Rep Power: 20 | You should try and go to every conference available. You learn tons from these seminars at the EXPO. The Tanning Expo is the biggest show of the year. New products are revealed as well as new equipment. Most manufacturers offer some sort of training if not they will meet with you for a private meeting. It is a must see for salon owners and industry professionals. It is lots of fun and very educational. |

Rep Power: 0 | The Vegas show didnt appear to have many conferences. Two day shows usually are jam packed. The TN show, however, had many more and started pre-conference. I would recommend the marketing related. You can talk and hear other salon owners and what they're doing, as well as listen to the "experts". To be honsest, I attended about 8 or 9 in Orlando and there wasn't a single one that didn't give me great ideas, leadership development, or knowledge to help day to day operations. If I were you (and how I'll pick them next year), do a candid assessment of what areas you are weakest in. Do you know everything about tanning, but little about equipment? Attend more seminars about the equipment. Little shaky about promotions? Attend marketing seminars. You really can't lose. |
