Opening new salon and need to know how much you pay employees who manage your tanning salon while owner not here. Do you give them insurance coverage?
Want to open with 6 to 8 beds.I am in central california.
what kind of contract do you have?
Thanks

Try the "search" engine..there are plenty of posts on this topic. If you are going to be an "owner not there" though you are going to be sorry. No one is going to care (regardless of pay) as much as you do.

We start everyone out at min. wage until we see how they will work out. The next step is commission. However you wotk it out...especially with you not being there you need to incorporate commission.

Minimum Wage is a meaningless standard when McDonald's hires kids at $6.50/hr.

We start our part timers at $6 an hour and give them a raise after 2 months to $6.50 if they grasp the selling of lotion and keep the salon clean concepts. After awhile we bump that up to $7.

We have tons of people coming in here everyday wanting a job...a teenage girl would much rather work at a popular tanning salon than McDonald's. We've never had anyone turn down a job here...I think some of them would work just for free tanning.
