Rep Power: 0 | Well, first of all, I would like to thank all of you that gave me advice and encouragment! My Grand Opening was a hit! Absolutely beautiful and prosperous! The Chamber of Commerce members stayed all evening. Everyone enjoyed the salon and all of the perks! I invite you to look at my website to view the pictures from the opening.I will be adding more in the weeks to come. www.hottiestanningsalon.com I was completely amazed at how many new people showed up.Including exisitng clients! I don't regret it one bit! I encourage anyone who is contemplating a grand opening bash to GO FOR IT!! You can't lose! Even if no one was to show up. It's the motivation and passion that you put into your salon. It's the kindess and loyalty that you show your clients. The word will get around. At least, in my case it did. Thanks again for yall's support! Jennifer |

Rep Power: 107 | Being positive has nothing to do with it I'm afraid. You must now convince the clients you have "gained", to stay with you despite the prices offered down the road!! Do yourself a favour, and don't be to confident based on your Grand Opening success. You have attracted the bargain hunters....... Now you have to keep them. Sorry to rain on your parade, but reality sucks!! |

Rep Power: 107 | I was happy with my grand opening too!! But that has nothing to do with the future. As I said reality sucks, and everyone needs to be prepared for it. People who have bankruptcy sales do good too! I wish her the best, but be prepared! |

Rep Power: 107 | Chamber Members?? Are you an outsider? Do you have any relatives that are friends with the other "chamber" members?? NO?? then you are an outisder, cause chamber members are a clicque of long time members..... with ching .... and ching supports ching... I don't want to seem mean, but, take some time and do a reality check. Please?? It may save some hurt a year from now. |

Rep Power: 0 | What? Okay....what are you talking about? She had the chamber there because she belong to her local chamber (I am assuming) and our local chambers are very supportive of their members and they had out our stuff all of the time...I know this might shock you but one of the largest Dermatologists in our area passes out our cards to all of his patients , because we have sunless..It is a great idea and it barely costs anything! |

Rep Power: 0 | Oh you guys! It's all good. I had a flow of people before the big Grand opening. I actually had a soft opening three months ago. My Grand opening was just an official celebration, along with Chamber doing the ribbon cutting. Believe me, I am not being over confident. I was just really worried that no one would show up. I am overly HAPPY that so many people took the time to celebrate with me. Thats all. ...And of course I wanted to thank those of you that were so encouraging. Since the Grand opening, many people have come in to purchase memberships because of what they heard about the salon. CLEANLINESS and nice ownership. You can own a big salon with big money, big tan equipment, but if you don't have passion, eagerness, or an inviting salon....well you wont have clients. By no means am I trying to sound like miss no it all. This is what works for me, my clients and my town. Nobody can rain on my parade. I am learning more and more everyday. If I fail... At least I tried! But thanks for the heads up and the advice. Being positive is better than being negative |
