Rep Power: 0 | Hello everyone! I am so proud to finally have my big Grand Opening celebration, but need a few more ideas. The theme is Valentines, of course. The Chamber of Commerce will be doing the ribbon cutting at 5pm on Feb. 10th. I am having chamagne, sparkling red grape juice, chocolate covered strawberries and cookies. Will have vases of roses and balloons. Promotions are from Designer skin and Supre. I plan to put gift cards inside of balloons and let guests pop them for prizes. Thinking about making up little gift baskets. What else should I do? And for how long? How do I determine who gets gift baskets? How long will the chamber of commerce stick around? What kind of memberships should I give away? I have researched on the tantalk boards for similar subjects, just couldn't really get the answers that i am looking for. PLEASE share any creative ideas that you can, I truly appreciate everything that I learn from tantalk. Everyone is so encouraging and willing to help!Thank you... |

Rep Power: 24 | Any bottle purchase, free session in upgrade bed. Any purchase, receives free lotion sample. Hopefully you have bottles of the packets you got for promotions. That way if they try the sample, let them know if they purchase the bottle that day they get the free session. Maybe $1 tan in the base beds. We have our drawings for anyone making a purchase. We have lotion baskets that they can choose from. Our grand prize for our customer appreciation next month is a "sweetheart basket"; a massage for 2, dinner for 2 and movie passes for 2. Goodluck, make sure you have plenty of help on hand to sell, clean beds and talk to customers. Other than trying to get money in the cash register, make sure that the customers know you are there to help them with all of their tanning needs. |

Rep Power: 0 | Well, The County News is running a special valentines section on Wed the 9th, I am running a beautiful ad that day. It is Mardi Gras down here, so I will be passing out flyers like crazy. Many parades will be passing my salon. I am giving formal invitations to all of my clients, and mailing a few. We are trying to make those little street corner signs that you see at intersections. Other than that, just word of mouth. Should there be a different drawing for already existing clients and something different for potential clients. For example, winning a membership isn't "like WOW" if you already have one. I know my questions might seem a little dumb for those of you that have been in the business for a long time, I just want the Grand Opening to be smooth. Not cheesy. I have been so overwhelmed with a million things, and my brain is stopping for a spit second!! I am so worried that people are going to come to the salon and stand around wondering "what the **** is so exciting about this?" Deep breath.... |

Rep Power: 0 | We are opening a new location in Ohio, too many competitors in area so we are giving EVERYONE a gift bag with free buy 1 get 1 coupons from local businesses, this promo is costing us ZERO, except for a little box of Godiva chocolates that will be $3.75. Our estimated opening is March, keeping it all under wraps until week before. _________________[ This Message was edited by: Lovetotan on 2005-01-29 13:24 ] |

Rep Power: 0 | I have one competitor, they have copied my website, prices and some of my salon designs. They are offering 10 tans for 5 bucks right now! I am not sure if I should post my Grand Opening ideas and offers on my website or not. I don't really feel threatned, because I am very confident in the salons kindness, cleanliness and great prices. But the the cut throat crap does suck! |

Rep Power: 0 | We put together 25 gift bags with different items in them. Not every item was tanning related. Each gift bag did have tanning related items but we included candles, coupons etc... the first 25 who purchased a package pulled a number out of a fishbowl and matched it to the gift bag. It made for some excitement. People were waiting around to see who got what (yes, we sold 25+ packages that day). We also did $10 off all packages starting that day and that ran for one week. We prepared "Thank You" cards in advance thanking them for making our Grand Opening a success (included a $5 coupon for a future purchase not to be redeemed with anyother special). We personalized it by addressing it to that individual while they were in tanning and handed it to them on their way out. Just a few ideas. |
