Rep Power: 0 | In order to open a salon, what might I need besides a lisence? Do I have to franchise the name as well? Already have the beds picked, location, computer system, etc...anything I should really look into? <besides a backer or loan, lol hardest darn thing to get> |

Rep Power: 20 | OK, I will help out. Before you sign a lease, buy one bed or anything related to the salon do a market analysis. Use http://www.clusterbigip1.claritas.com/eReports/Default.jsp. With that you will have the jist for whether or not you have the # of potential clients to sustain your salon. Factors to understand - 10% of your potential market tan, 90% dont! Also, go to each and every salon in your area. Test drive their machines, ask questions, be nosy. If they ask why you are asking so many darn questions be honest. Never lie to anyone, EVER. Once you have the funds, the right area, etc negotiate your lease. Have an attorney look it over before you sign anything. Have your CPA sign off on EVERYTHING. Taking these steps will help you get off with the least amount of headaches. Understans this is a business. Banks are not going to loan you more than 60-70% of your start up funds if that. They want to see your own PERSONAL money being put into YOUR business. Sorry for my above "joke". Genius has been following me from thread to thread today for some reason spouting off at the mouth not realizing I am a very sarcastic person in nature. Sorry! Superiorsalesman, if you have any other questions contact me. WHen it comes to starting your marketing schemes use Grip. THEY ARE AWESOME. I use Drew at Grip. He gets the job done. Also, dont listen to revenue projections from bed manufacturers. They will all have you believing your salon will be packed from open to close, 365 days a year. Its simply not like that. And one last thing - HAVE FUN! |
