Rep Power: 0 | Hey, Darren and Toni - - Cybertan NJ cybertan@verizon.net Darren: Im from SE England living with my fiance in NJ USA....from experience get as much money behind you as possible to reduce the amount of loans you take out to operate (beds equipment etc.) We use Helios as a talon operating software version 10, with TMAX manager pro timers. We leased our beds which is a bit of a mistake in hindsight as its expensive as ****...we use sonnenbraune beds - bodyscan level ones (X2) pryzma level twos (X3 lay down, one cyclone standup)and one level three diva7. all our beds are fitted with cosmetico lamps (expensive but well worth it for the quality tan you can assure your customers. thats just a little idea of a setup. READ READ READ tanning industry magazines and articles and familiarize yourself with law and regs. Intricate details - make sure your bed power is matched to a suitable session period...some salons use older model beds and so customers can tan for 20 mins in some lower level beds, ours are more powerful,,,our level 3 diva is set for a max of 9 mins...you dont wanna cook your customers...learn about tingle lotions, bronzers, tan extenders, hemp seed oil lotions, etc. as much as possible before you start...make sure you know what each loion type does and how it works with the body to achive a better tan...learn about the UV ray concept...that there are varying types and that those types will yield various results...for instance, our diva level three is a bronzing bed that emits more uvA rays...our level 2's emit UVB rays...after a certain amount of time, an individual using the diva too much will complain that they arent getting anyomore colour...so we put them in the level 2.they are passified and happy cause they see colour..different UV rays tan differently...learn how tanning works with cancer prevention and how it can be risky for certain individuals...learn facts as many as you can..arm yourself with knowledge,,,a customer will feel much safer if you know your stuff....sound a bit unsure and they wont trust your word..it makes the sale very hard to complete....finally....tan yourself twice a week...look good and the punters will be asking how they can get YOUR colour...it makes putting them in a bed and selling accessories and products a piece of pee.. Finally choose your landlord very very very carefully....we are having a **** time with ours as is everyone in our plaza...they love you when your just about to sign then they show their REAL colours!!!...visit places and ask around as to what the landlord/lady is like. hope this has helped a bit...good luck! |
