Any suggestions on finding a contractor for build out? There are so many out there. Should I get two to three quotes? Check BBB, etc?

I have a very talented husband who did our build out. I used to free-lance in interior design so I came up with the ideas and he did the work. Saved a lot of money. I would suggest asking around locally. Get references. Remember the cheapest bid isn't always the best way to go. Make sure they are licensed, bonded and insured. Good luck!

I am very lucky...My husband is a contractor...so anything that I need he has done. Mind you that its on his free time. My suggestions would be to get a few bids, ask the contractor for referals of customers that he has done work for and go and check the work out. Good Luck.

Here is the sneeky thing to do, but sometimes you have to be sneeky.
If you don't know exactly what has to be done, get your architect to draw up exactly what you want done and submit it to 3 differant contractors and have them bid it out.
Then have a meetoing and ask them how they came up with their price. They will say "600 pieces of drywall, 1500 2x4's, 24 buckets of compund, 20 tons of ac, 800 amp electrical service etcc"
Then go out and price it yourself and be your own subcontractor. Get 3 guys bidding for A/c and 3 guys bidding on electrical etc... get best prices and only put 10% down until after the work is done (so you don't get ripped off).
Go for it and use other peoples information to make your future happen CHEAPER.

Okay...I was told I was not going on about this topic like normal so.....

I believe in pre-fab because of a lot of issues....you can lease it as equipment ...and you can change your branding images down the road by simply pooping of the outer wall skins...they last forever...and it keeps your electrician costs down because they do not have to fish through walls ect....plus I think they look better if you buy from the right company.

yeah, the tan walls are really nice, and if you dont know what you are doing, they do it for you. They are more costly.
