With that comment, maybe that is why you are not being taken seriously. Your equipment is where your money is so perhaps you should care! |

Rep Power: 0 | It seems to me that in reading ALL over the comment in here that every bed gets good and bad comments. That is why I said it SEEMS that the bed does not matter. That being said and if THAT is the case then which Distributer or Manufacturer will offer the most/best help opening the Salon? I believe that if you open in a neighborhood and offer a good tan and great customer service then they will come and to start I cannot offer the BEST equipment so I go with good equipment and great help to open. For example, I know that Tropical Rays gets both good and bad reviews in here, so that is a toss up for me. I know they offer a package deal for 30,000...6 beds, timers, controller and other stuff. Is that the best deal I can get, I have money, about 100,000 but I don't want to use it all on beds with no help. I would rather find a dealer that will finance the beds and offer delivery with installation and be with me say the first 3 days I am open to make sure I am doing it right. And before you say it, I already have someone that will provide the space and build-out for 12 beds, but I don't think it would be wise to start that big usless I find a dealer that will finance all 12 beds and installation and delivery. Do you see my point yet? |

Rep Power: 0 | Could I make a suggestion, I am new so this is just personal advise. Why did you choose tanning as a business? Know your area, your competion and what potential clients are used to. If your in an area where money could be an issue, go with standard "what ever manufacturer" with an upgrade or two. Alot of customers won't like change others will embrace it. Offer great customer service and quality! If you are a tanner what do you expect when you use a bed? Business ownership is a package deal, everything in it has a value, beds, lotion, etc. Use this as a base for what you offer clients. I have done alot of research here and all over the internet. My best advice would be use the names and numbers of reputable manufacturers and just sit down and make calls, it's time consuming but my experience, others here and yours will all be different. Depending on what you want and how you want it may get you a different deal than it would someone else. |

Rep Power: 23 | too funny...hehehehehe I would like to add just this. sadly, I am sure there are many distie that LOOOOOVE people like you. They will gladly stuff your head with unrealistic numbers. Sell and lease you beds...and certainly hand you a layout and help you with the business plan. There is sooooo much more to owning and operating a salon. You will learn...hopefully not the hard way. But you My lazy future salon owner will remember with ever fiber of your being....what Your school teacher must have told you years ago..."Be sure to come prepared for class." That still applies today. Good luck. Hey for a small fee I will be happy to be youyr consultant on leasing a space....it could save you thousands. |
