Rep Power: 0 | i am going to be taking over a salon that has an existing buisness. The place needs a major clean up. I have an idea of how long everything should take me, but i am concerned if it is a bad idea to shut the place down for about 5 days to do everything. the biggest problem i am running into is what to do about the floor. Currently there is carpeting in the main area and the hallway, this is all in great condition. The carpeting in the rooms is horrible. I thought about hardwood floor and tile. i have to contend with the beds staying in the rooms while i do the floors. Any suggesyions would be helpfull. Is carpeting in the rooms a bad idea? |

Rep Power: 24 | My advise is to NOT put carpet in the rooms, it's like going into a cheap hotel...you can't get the smell out. I have lcarpet in the lobby & in the hall..we put slat looking linolium in the rooms, plus local health codes might prohibit it.. |

Rep Power: 23 | I persoally think your customers like to see whats being done with their money. With the customers watching the progress you will be the talk of the town. You can't even put a price tag on that. Last year I completly tore out ten rooms down to the concrete. Never closed an hour. Going to do the other half in a month or so. Flick |

Rep Power: 21 | We did the same thing. My hubby built 2 new rooms while we were open. The customers love to see what we are doing and like was said where there money goes to. I still have carpeting in all the rooms and probably will keep it in there for a while as there is a bunch of other stuff we need first. We did get all the carpeting cleaned a couple of weeks ago, so this helps some. But than again some customers are bad about dropping lotions on it. This weekend we are putting an awning on if it doesn't rain. Hopefully our sign will be here also. |
