It totally depends on where you are in the country....For instance, I am on the shores of RI, so July-September are pretty dead (since most people are at the beach)....But someone in the middle of the country may be REALLY busy in the summer, because there are no beaches nearby.....For me, the busy season is February-June, July and August are slow, September things start to slowly get better until November (which is our worst month), then the season gradually comes and peaks out again.....

Here, late January to the end of June with July being a so-so month. After that it's slooowwwwwww! I wish there were a garunteed way to keep clients for the Summer, then we'd all be rich.

Our business is the best Feb-May...but I have business year round. I truly believe if you will educate your clients on the facts about tanning inside versus outside and educate them on the smart ways of tanning you will increase your business every year. But with the type of business you have on your profile, that is a preference that everyone has their opinions on.

People tan when they think that they will be wearing shorts in the next two weeks. In the south, that comes quicker than the further north. It is very weather dependant. This warm winter has resulted in more people tanning earlier. This brings in Full time and part time tanners in your salon.

What further increases business is "Event Tanners" preparing for spring/summer events they need to look their best for.

We cover all of this in our Lotion University (TM) 102 booklet designed to educate salon onwers on the tanning industry and selling tanning products . We offer it free to tanning salon owners. Simple call - 800-935-7625 or or e-mail - Greg@soakinuptherays.com
