Rep Power: 0 | My wife and I purchased an older tanning salon recently and I am looking to renovate everything. My question is, we are wanting to replace the beds. I have room for 7 beds. What would anyone recommend for beds and also for a turbo bed. Thanks in advance |

But seriously, look for something that is in your price range. Perhaps a bit more spiffy than your competition. Don't go for fancy units with all the bells and whistles unless your competing against them. With room for 7 units consider beds that can be used in a tiered system. For example, "beginner/maintenance beds" that are around 28 to 30 lamps, and then go up to perhaps 40 lamps in increments. Each tier be commanding a higher price (upgrade charge). Also, go for something that is strudy and will give you a good lifespan and fewer maintenace problems. I have ProSun and have had no major repairs in over 5 1/2 yrs. Others will steer you towards ETS units, nasaaaah! Sundash, yes! Pure Tan, okay. Consider the age of the units you have now. Maybe a small investment to refurbish one at a time will save you some cash. Relamp, check the fans and wiring, and a funky paint job can go along way until you can afford EWE or Ergoline units. Good luck and welcome to Tan Talk. |

Rep Power: 21 | Yes, watch those darned ETS beds...they'll put you in the hole your first year...NOT!!! I hate it that I have become one of the most successful salons in our area after only one and a half years of business! I'm so dissapointed that it wasn't ProSun or Sundash that put me on the top! To each his own. I and many others are doing excellent with ETS beds. Only you can decide. Contact different distributors/manufacturers and go for it! Good Luck! |

Rep Power: 0 | Hello, I would like to know, why, you would buy a salon, then, turn around & redo everything? I just passed up buying a Tan salon with 7 ETS Beds. Cause I did not want to have to redo this whole salon. To me it seemed like a waste of my money. To, buy, then, to sell all the beds at a loss, I just didn't feel like I was getting anything for my money. I am still looking for a spot to open, fresh. I was just wondering, by, your ?, why, anyone would do that? Maybe I missed something LOL. Carolinachick |

Carolinachick We negotiated an outstanding price for an existing business in a growing location (22000 new homes being built by end of 05). And 2 when you own your own business you want the best you can get. As a customer would you prefer old beds to newer modern beds. Thats what I thought. As a business owner, you can maximize your investment with what the customer is looking for. Business is about turning a profit. |

Rep Power: 0 | Good Luck....My opinion would be to sick with something that will hold up. In my experience (owning ETS, PureTan and SunDash beds) I prefer SunDash. I just bought my salon in August 5 ( had one from 96 to 99 out of my home 2 beds)5 of the beds were SunDash ( older 93-95) but in really good condition) I traded out the Purtan for a SunDash and bought another SunDash with face tanners. After I move I will have 7 beds All SunDash. They seem to be really easy to maintenance and they hold up. The ETS and Purtan ones I had were really made for home use and didn’t hold up very well, they were also hard to maintenance. Good luck in whatever you decide and welcome to a great group of tanning professionals! Carrey SunShine Tanning Factory |
