Rep Power: 0 | Sorry for having to start a new thread. But I feel by doing it this way, it is cleaner. The potential location for my salon is next to a gym. The demographic of the area is really good. Over 100,000 in a 3 miles radius, and the median income is 90k. It is at the corner of a very intersection. However, I found out that the gym has 4 tanning beds in it. They are standup beds. THey are older and not very well kept. Initially I thought they only had 2 tanning beds but now I know they have 4. I was ok with 2 beds but 4 gives me a little bit of cold feet. Would this still be a good location for a tanning salon giving the fact that the gym has 4 tanning beds in it? Thanks in advance for any comments you have about this. |

Rep Power: 25 | We are less than 1 mile from a gym that has a whole tanning salon inside. This gym/salon opened after we did. The people that will tan there are the ones that belong and workout there. There are alot of American's that don't workout at a gym (read the health reports) and will tan elsewhere. I think that the salon in the gym has resonable prices and maintains their equiptment ok and I don't feel an impact from them. So if the traffic flow there is ok....I'd still go for it. |

Rep Power: 22 | The demographics you gave are exactly the same as other salon owners I supply equipment to.In every case, they either started out as a mega salon with 20+ pieces of equipment or grew the business to that size and bigger. The demo's you gave support a $500,000 store. Forget the gym.Tanners will pay for state of the art equipment that is well-maintained with a staff that is well trained.Chances are you'll take their tanning business not visa-versa! |

Rep Power: 28 | I wouldn't worry about their lowball pricing. If you have good equipment and knowledgeable staff you will over power them with your professional ablities. I would say the EFT is a good competing price., |

Rep Power: 22 | Jusy from reading the different threads you've posted, it sounds to me like whoever your equipment supplier is, for whatever reason, doesn't offer much in training. We pride ourselves on not just dumping equipment off at your door & leaving you clueless.Great marketing and sales strategies are essential for any business of which you're getting ZILCH! These strategies obviously are needed to be in place BEFORE you sign the lease.MY services are free to my customers. I have already driven down the road you're going by previously owning 5 salons myself. I can save you more threads by simply calling 1-866-776-3484! Best Regards |

Rep Power: 0 | It sounds like most people think the location near the gym is the best one. I think I will go with that location. Thanks again for all of your comments. Hopefully if time permits, I will try to post some pictures of my salon as it is built. Hope you will enjoy it. |
