Rep Power: 0 | I was wondering how other tanning salon owners or customers felt about Dr. Kern tanning beds? I am currently looking at there equipment line for a new salon I am currently working on opening. I was also considering looking into Sunergoline. Any thoughts or comments are appreciated. By the way, I love all of the helpful topics that are posted here. |

Rep Power: 22 | Cm Cruzin, it really depends on which Dr. Kern you are talking about. I bought a Blue Dream earlier this year, and it has been well accepted by my clients. They really like the results and the higher canopy. But, I've had continual problems with it from the reliability side. I'm always hearing about some noise it's making, or a lamp failing, or things like that. They aren't the best built beds by any means, but I didn't pay a lot for it either. You might be fine if you go with their VIVA model. But, if I were going to spend that kind of money, I'd probably look elsewhere. |

Rep Power: 0 | I to have a Dr. Kern 44/4 and I am purchasing another one soon. My question is how much do you charge clients for pkgs and/or walk-in rates. I know each area dictates it's own pricing, however, this will give me a general knowledge of pricing on this unit. I only have minute pkgs ranging from 48 min - 150 min starting at $45 - $99. and the walk-in rate is $1/min. Please help me to make sure I am charging either enough $$ or I should look into different types of packages to offer. |

Rep Power: 0 | I have owned a Dr. Kern 50/12 for almost 3 years and have been very satified. We charge $10 to upgrade to that bed and people love the 12 minute tan it offers. I have had no problem getting parts, just make sure you clean the filters good on the canopy. |

Rep Power: 23 | Chris is Tan I'm sorry I do not have any Dr Kern beds in my salon but you should have an exposure schedule listed on the bed. That exposure schedule should give you the maximum tan time allowed per session in your bed. You should not go above the maximum time set by the schedule. I know this is one of the points our state inspector touched on becausetherehad been salons in our area allowing clients to pay extra for higher than recommended tanning times in thier equipment. I hope that I helped you Angie |
