i was thinking about getting a tattoo and i read in one of the postings that some girl asked do you cover your tattoos - i never that that you had to cover them when you were tanning - why is this and if you covered your tattoos wouldnt you get a tan line???

yes you would

the only reason to cover a tatoo is so that it doesn't lose its color. If you get a spf stick you could trace the tatoo and not have any tan lines. I know that I have seen them in one of my catalogs. If I come across it again I will let you know.

Thanx Teez

Hey flashfire, don't worry about feeling like a dummy. We have all been there and I am sure I will do the same sometime. I only use the spf stick and it seems to work fine. Maybe someone else might have another suggestion.

Yeah! A tattoo question!! I'm so excited!!

If you have a fresh tattoo you need to completely cover it with a towel. A new tattoo will sunburn (whether you're tan or not) then it will flake and peel off. Not completely but it will GREATLY damage your tattoo. If a tattoo never saw light it would look like you just got it, forever. After it is healed use a sunblock, appling it with q-tips helps prevent "tan lines". Tanning will bleach a tattoo, especially if it's new. Many times I hear "I can just get it recolored if it fades, right?" Although true, it won't be the same as the first time around.

JA has a good lip compact. Lots of nut oils and would be good for your skin on your tattoo
