Rep Power: 0 | I just finished putting new carpet in the salon and painted. Have been breaking down beds and changing bulbs. Everything is fresh and clean. I'm putting a ad in the paper next week, "just changed bulbs, HOT HOT HOT". I always make sure I have fresh bulbs at the beginning of peak season. Not that they still don't have a lot more hours on them now, but love to start peak out very strong, and don't really have time to do bulb changes in the middle of peak. I have 1 cooler bed for beginners, but everything else is fresh. Am I the only one doing this, or does anyone else start out with fresh bulbs for peak season? I'm so tweet...... Rep Power: 0 | Big Dawg, Dah......... we know that. Most salons like to start peak with pretty fresh bulbs. When my customers come in and see how great these bulbs are, they run out and tell their friends. Everybody wants a place that has "hot bulbs". My beds are pretty fresh all the time, but beginning of peak I make sure I change everything. I meter my bulbs too, but still like hot. hot. hot...... |

Rep Power: 0 | Big Dawg, Ok, I see you have a salon with 20 beds. If I had 20 beds, I guess I wouldn't be changing all of them then either. I think it all depends on how many beds you have and how much competition you have. I have alot, and I'm proud to say my beds and bulbs are the best in town. |

Rep Power: 0 | I prefer to have lamps that are consistent all year round. Granted the first 100 hours are always a little warmer but not much. I do have a larger salon but all beds are changed within a 7 day period. The reason this is done is so that employees and myself will know how long to put a customer in for.... if lamps are always consistant there is less of a chance of someone getting burned.... just the way I do things... we also "top drop" and tear down every unit to clean inside of bed, acrylic, and lamps every two weeks. |

Rep Power: 0 | Big Dawg, You are totally correct!!!!!!!!!! I too try to keep things consistant. It is alot easier on the employees. I don't have many, just one for now(smaller salon). I too break down the beds every two weeks.I like everything clean, clean, clean.... I always tell the customers that they are getting into a newly changed bed, so they know why I am bringing down their time. Haven't burned anyone yet, and don't plan on it. There are so many salons in my area that just don't care. Their beds are dusty inside the acrylic, and bulbs are dirty. |

Rep Power: 0 | I was just wondering why evryone still uses the term hot bulbs(lamps)? We have air condition beds so we always expalin that the heat factor has nothing to do with tanning. The heat may make you appear tanner at first because of the heat flux in your skin.We usually say you dont have to sweat your buns off to gt tan. I always thought the hotter a bed the less effciently the bed will run and the lamps will wear out faster. Air conditioned beds are big here. Maria |

Rep Power: 23 | When ever I drive by a tanning salon that has a sign "HOT NEW BULBS", I have to wonder, what the tanner that tanned there last month thinks? Maybe they think they got "COLD OLD BULBS". Steve Miller |
