Go nantan! Track every cent you have lost over this mess...get treble damages and go out and buy bigger, badder equipment, just don't open up next to me, ok? Trying to be a little silly here, but we are behind you all the way!

Thanks guys! Even if I can't recoup my loses I want people to know how they operate so no new, unsuspecting, nieve, salon owner that is trying to make a dream their reality should go through this. I'll keep ya posted.

Kick butt! I hope everything works out for you. What you have done in raising awarness of this company is a good thing. As a new guy I could and possibly would be in the same boat if I had not happened to catch a thread somewhere in reference to their practices. In Nashville I was referred to them by the two different distributors I was pricing. Of course I declined and chose another option. I think it is crutial that the distributors be aware of what is going on out there, and who is recommending who. It could bite you in the ***. They are on these boards as much as we are and have seen these postings to your dilema. Take some pleasure in knowing that you have shamed Tommel publicly.
Again...Good Luck!

I've done business with Tommel for several years and have not had any problems with them until recently. I had a lease that was expiring and knew about the buyout option. I contacted them in advance about the payoff and to my surprise learned that they were trying to over-charge me for the buyout. My contract stated that the buyout was approximately 10% of the value of the equipment. They had created some buyout chart and were trying to charge more like 20%. This was a couple thousand dollars more than it should have been. When I baulked at this they told me that the contract said "approximately". I told them that 20% is not "approximately" 10%, it is double 10%. They refused to give way until I told them I was calling their President. I suppose after that point they saw how many leases we had had with them and gave in. This shady, unethical kind of business compounded with the experience of others on this chat makes me seriously reconsider doing business with them again. I hope they get these messages and clean up their act.

I too have Bankers Leasing, and have been very pleased with them. I don't understand how they can hold you to not reading your contract better if you did not receive the whole thing. I would think that if you did not initial that portion, that it would count for something. My contract doesn't say anything about the lease automatically renewing if you don't notify them. It simply states the duration of the lease, and a clear understanding of what the buyout will be. I hope that you can resolve your problems in a better way than this. What a disappointment, I'm sure you have helped many others with your post and truly wish you the best of luck.

Well, we paid them Nov. 16th and it is now Dec. 9th and no response from Tommel. Our agreement was we would receive all original paperwork for both leases..... paid in full. Guess this really isn't over yet. The fat lady hasn't sung! I have had wonderful responses from you all and want to thank you for all your support!
Thanks, Thanks, Thanks, Thanks, Thanks,
Nan
