It looks like we are going to have to settle with them. I don't want to, but I don't have the money to fight them. I didn't realize how large they were until the other salon owner told me. Looks like I will have to go back to work full time to pay off the loan. I will still do anything I can to discourage anyone from using Tommel Financial. I would be interested in other leasing company numbers as well.
Thanks for all your thoughts and support. I got taken.... no doubt, but time to get over it and on with the new Season!!

This is so sad. I feel that there should be federal involvement here. This company is taking advantage of people.

Hope you get everything paid, and have a bang of a season nantan.

Nantan-I'm so sorry that your nightmare ended like this.In the next 3 months I will be purchaseing a new bed & of course I will need to lease it,knowing your story I will RUN from that lease company.Maybe I'll just give them a call & act like I'm interested in dealing w/ them after they work their a**'s off to give me their best price.I'll tell them to **** off , because I'm not doing business w/ a sneaky company like them!Off course I'll clue them in on the horror stories I've heard & then slam the phone down. Best of luck Amy

Thanks everyone for your support! And for what it is worth, I had a call from Four Seasons today, saying they will no longer do business with Tommel. Do I believe it? Mmmmmm. Let's all pray for a dynamite season!

Oh Nantan, I'm so sorry this ended like this, companies like Tommell should be put out of business, what they did was sneaky underhanded and wrong, hopefully your experience will help steer others away from them..

By the way I submitted my letter to them and no response my lawyer is now involved and after Thanksgiving I will gove him a call to see what is happening with it.

I see nothing wrong with what the leasing company did. If you owe them $10k (or $5k) for leased equipment, you owe them. Surely by now you've accumulated $10k worth of net worth to refinance those beds with your local bank?
I wish I could say I feel for you, but I would have to say I would have forced the lease terms as well. There's nothing wrong with the leasing company, it is the lessee's responsibility to read and UNDERSTAND the lease before signing.

Bizwatcher,
How many salons do you have if any and when was the last time you leased?
On alot of these leases you almost need a attorney to read them to completly understand them. We really aren't expecting are distributor to recommend a place that is going to screw us.
Yes, you are correct that he should of read it alittle bit better, but other leasing companys that handle tanning salon are not using this practice. The wording is very confusing.

How many companies do you know that would wait 6, 8, or 10 months to notify you, you are dilenquent on payments. This is not an accident, computer glique or anything but an under handed way to charge lessees excessive lease and late charges when no specific buy out option is stated in the lease. You are intitled to your opinion bizwatcher, but I am not the only person they have hoodwinked.
I am delighted that the other two salon owners are going to fight them all the way... I wish I could!

I have been notified of a possibility of a class action suit against Tommel Financial. If anyone else is interested please e-mail me @ nanstansltd@hotmail.com
