Happy 4th Everyone! As we sit here going over numbers for our business plan (what a wonderful way to spend the 4th!), it occurred to me that numbers sure can look good now and then, yet can be very deceiving. Just out of curiousity, and I'm not asking anyone to disclose exactly how they do, how many beds do you have in your salon and ball-parking the figures, what DO you profit in a year?Are you basing it on 100% or 50% capacity?Thanks for your help!Laney

Come on people are we all outside by the grill? sorry I gotta work tonight so no fun here. lets here some responses. Chunn we know your making some bucks so fill us in what are we looking at number wise guys. want to hear everyones input. Getting this business plan done will be the monkey off the back and I hate working numbers but I gotta figure this out. Right now our numbers are extremly high but we are baseing it on 100 percent capacity. is that what we tell the banks or do we play it safe and say 50% also how much is everyones lotions sales a year. I read that to figure out your sales it should be 30% of your gross earnings. any input? thanks everyone enjoy your 4th of July I'm off to work but the bright side is I'm earning extra money to get the salon open on time.

Sorry John, I am not good at biz plan. I just do what I have to. If I could help you I would. I think, and I mean think, my lotions are almost have of my total sales. I don't have my books here at home but I will be lookin in to this soon. As I have decided I need to do a biz plan also, even though I have been in it for 4 years. According to what I read and learn from this board, I MUST DO THIS

I hope you all didn't misunderstand what I was trying to say....I wasn't asking you to disclose your financial standings, just wanted to find out if I should keep my day job when the salon is open!! I mean, afterall, we do have personal bills as well as salon bills that will have to be paid, and I'm trying to get an idea of what kind of financial standing I might be looking at. As John said, this business plan is about to drive both of us to drink (at least a little more than we do!), and all we want is some input. Please....help!!!!Have a great day!Laney

laney, When do you plan on opening and how many units do you have?What is your budget and how much working capital are you carrying?This will determine if you need to contiune to work. I took a 3 month leave of absence to open up and then decided not to go back.You will make a lot more money being on site as to have someone operate it for you. No-one cares for your business like you do.God has really blessed us, we started last Sept, put in 11 units and are now taking more space and adding 6 more units.If you want to trade personal info e-mail me
