Gdog!,The reson they answered you that way is because there is no simple answer to that question! Alot of it depends on what your particular needs are! You will find this out after you start investigating a little more!there are alot of variables involved, here are just a few:How much do you have to spend?,how much space do you have?,How much electric is available at your location? What does your competition have?,What is the population of your location?,Average income? Then there are different catagories of beds and stand ups, base beds, upgrade beds, high pressure beds, standup units.First you have to define some perimeters before you can even begin to get an answer to your question.I hope this gets you started in the right direction.

We are on our second tanning salon, one we own and one we manage. Sundash beds are quite reliable and the older bed 93-97 work well as entry beds. The are a large size and the cost of replacing the 26 lamps is cheaper than many brands that have 30-34 lamps. The lamp replacement cost is expensive and the 26 lamp beds work well and allow a cheaper entry price. the newer 32 lamp genesis brings out color faster than wolff velocity beds. the salon we own had old beds which we replaced with reconditioned sundash wolff and genesis beds for upgrade. customers really could tell the difference between these beds. we have on ets 32 lamp bed with 3 400 watt facials. the lamps are 100 watt velocity. Even though the ets beds looks fancier, most customers note the genesis without facial tan better.

the facial beds are a gimmick which some people like just because the look cool. we plan on adding a 240g sundash, 15 minute version and a new ergoline 350 sometime this fall. the ets bed failed within four months and we are still waiting for repair parts. the local sun distributor has parts to fix any sun bed. i was amazed the old suntana beds in the salon we own has 20,000 hours and except for loose wires kept right on working. when you look at the physical size of the 1200 ma sun ballast and compare to the ets there is no comparison. you pay more for sundash but the quality and reliability is unmatched. we purchased 3 used 232 genesis beds last year and bought new decals for $25 a piece. a little wax and the machines look like new. after 14 months we have replace one keypad on one bed. we also replaced one rail timer and computer board to be able to talk to the new tmax timer system. another great feature is that sundash will work with 20 amp circuits which saves lots of money. using 6 and 8 gauge wire for beds with predominately 100 watt lamps seems like a waste. good luck

This NOT that I'm suggesting this size bed,But I was a little southern town today on a service call. The salon had only
6ft 24 lamp beds.
This salon was one of the busyist I'v seen for this time of the year. My point here is witch is the best bed?
It depends on your area,What surrounding salons have.Whats the economy like? How deep are your pockets?
All beds these days 30 and bigger are steal frames and well built, just start looking around and see what fits the bill
for you.
