Facebook Question

I have a very simple basic question about using Facebook. We want to market our business so is it the easiest and best way to go about it just by having people like our FB page? After they like us will they always get our updates that we post on our FB page?

I saw a concession trailer doing this in Dallas this spring, like our FB page and get 10% off your order. People were doing it as they stood in line and so really just about everyone got the 10% off but the concession trailer sends out FB blasts to everyone when they open up for the day and telling people where they are at. Very smart, I just want to know if this is the easiest way for people to find our FB page.

Thanks to all my tech savy friends!

Re: Facebook Question

My best advice is to do giveaways... we do gift certificates for the salon, lotion, and we do other non-related items such as waterpark passes on our waterpark passes we had almost 5,000 views and mind you we are just a small salon with 12 units in a town of 18K with lots of other salons in our town. People love free stuff!!!

There is a ton of creative fb ways to build likes if you google them, but giving away free stuff definitely helps.

Pictures I think are important when you are posting, if it is plain text its not as eye catching and it often gets skipped over. You can share info on products, pricing, specials, staff info, hours, equipment, tanning tips or just because post.

I encourage to use the post scheduler to schedule future post out and do a bunch at a time. I do mine each week typically for 7 days at a time so I don't have to worry about a new post each day. Also post aleast 3 times a week so your page stays revelant and fresh.

Lastly, I always say go the added value route vs discounting ...like instead of giving 10% off give 5 days free or something and you can make it necessary to receive discount you must show us this post or that you have liked our page etc.

The sky is the limit with facebook and you reap what you sow with it. Best of luck here is mine if you want to check it out for ideas www.facebook.com/esglow

Re: Facebook Question

I appreciate the advice but maybe I did not make myself clear. Wouldn't be the first time I did that. What I was asking was just about the physical act of hooking them up to the FB page. Is the act of liking the FB page all I need to do to be able to acquire their contact info to contact them?

Re: Facebook Question

Yes, when they like your page you will be able to look at their FB page and find out names and stuff like that.

Re: Facebook Question

I use LocBox. They not only drive your social media up..but they place deals and fun messages out on your social media. They also drive your google/google+ reviews way up. Has worked out very well. Plus, I get to keep the majority of the purchase money as opposed to groupon.
