Re: New Customer Specials - why "FREE TAN" is the WORST!

Many salon operators are simply dead set against giving multiple free tans to a new tanner. While multiple free tans to a new tanner is the best way to insure that a new tanner will visit your salon and it gives you an opportunity to work with them on multiple visit and even establish a relationship or become a part of their routine.

the fact remains what ever special you offer should include multiple visits. 7 visits $7 see salon for details (one week $7)
or 4 visits $4 must be used in 7 or 10 days. Anything that allows you time to work with them.

Yes there are those that will come and may not purchase anything, however many will plus you are creating a data base of known tanners to market.

Now here is the catch for this being effective. If your salon is run down, dirty or looks more like your home than a business, or you and your staff are not properly trained or have price structures that offers something for every tanner, in short the best possible tanning experience in your market, they may not stay.

Getting new tanners in is not as hard as you might think, getting them to stay and want to come often takes a little more effort but is something every operator can do.

Has everyone forgotten that just getting a new client in the door is the hardest and most important part of your marketing. Until a customer walks in your door they really dont know your there!
