What kinda Specials are people running this season

This is my 7th season and I do not do specials. I started with 2 other salons whom were both cheaper and they are no longer in business. Stay cleaner and nicer, and keep good bulbs and you will be successful.

Im thinking season is starting a little later this year, just hang in there.

I am doing a new customer only special. They get 50% off their first tan in any of our beds and then when they buy a package the same day/night they get 25% off of it.

EFT is my special. I wont start running my special till August to gain retention for the winter months

I did a special last month January 17th , i brought Snooki from jersey shore to my salon to promote with me! it was huge over 200 people, it will be in island suntimes next month check it out. www.BeachGlowTanning.com we did $5 tans all day any bed! 137 out of the 200 tanned. So it was a good promotion im trying to think of doing something else big next. Maybe bring someone from Sunset Tan to the Salon, since they dont do the show anymore. lol

What did you have to pay for Snooki? Those orange people aren't cheap. I tried to barter with the Real World DC cast for free tanning for promo purposes and they wanted like 5K+ to be here.

I think the season is off to a real slow start, our sales are way down compared to this time last year. My husband and I bought our salon a little over a year ago and daily specials were already in place. We stick to them like glue, although over the summer I did raise prices by 10-15% on everything. April 1 we start our prom specials for the high school crowd ( must have school id for proof, have had one too many over 20 somethings try to buy the package)... We have tried drawings, lotion packages, discounts on regularly priced packages.... nothing seems to be working this year. Last year we brought in a new ergoline and it has a decent draw. We have EFT's as well, have lost a few and gained a few but nothing worth mentioning.

I like the text messaging idea, but we tried to do a emailing list for coupons and reception was pretty flat. I think I had maybe 15 people sign up. We recently revamped the lobby and have been trying to get people to just walk in and see it! I started a facebook page and everything.
