Rep Power: 0 | Specials For Your Salon I'm trying to think of some good special to run for Sept and Oct. We do monthly specials at our salon. So just trying to get a feel of what clients are looking for right now. For Aug we are running BOGO half price on bottles. Half price upgrades. and Half price single sessions fri-sun. But lotions dont seem to be selling as good as we thought. |

Re: Specials For Your Salon To try to sell lotions do a special like with month unlimited add a lotion at 25% off? People will say next, and next time, and next time that they will purchase a lotion but if they are really going to they will that day with 25% off! Another idea pick a line of lotion in the same price range and say they are normally $40.00 sell them as Purchase a Month Unlimited an add any of these lotions at $25.00 or $30.00?

Re: Specials For Your Salon It is easy for customers to get in the rhythm of sales especially if they are coming every month and even if you rotate what is on sale. It becomes more of a pattern of repeated comfort, so the call to action of another sale is not anything causing a pressure to buy as another sale will come along next month. For me I don't do so often so when I do it is a bigger hit. Food for thought. Best wishes! Last edited by CrystalSS; 08-21-2009 at 10:48 AM.

Re: Specials For Your Salon Crystalss- This is very true which we have found ourselves having to do. Because we did for so long now its expected, we try to do not so big of specials during the busy months our biggest thing is we know most people call every salon in town to see who has the best deal! Do we not worry about this or what do you think?

Re: Specials For Your Salon I never sweat the small stuff and that would constitute the few salon hoppers. In truth, they are not really the customers I want anyway. Everyone wants a bargain and you can't fault people for that. In reality it is just a small amount of people that go through all the trouble of looking to another salon for a sale or buying internet products. SO small in fact, that it should not influence the way you operate. Always do what works best for you. Your majority will purchase from you. I just know too MANY sales suddenly start to mean nothing. Put the carrot out on the stick and wait until they are hungry and sales go well. Put a whole bowl out everyday and it becomes no big deal.

Rep Power: 46 | Re: Specials For Your Salon i offer more specials than most salons each month but i do it thru email, text and on my website only.(sometimes in paper and 1 big postcard campaign to kick season off.) if you dont see them you dont get them..plain and simple! if you walk in the salon and ask for specials i show you the regular prices or we refer to my monthly upsells. each month i make a upsell sheet for employees.. for instance this month if someone comes in to buy 1 week we tell them right now they can get 1 week free if they buy 2 weeks...if that same person was asking for 2 weeks they dont automatically get the 1 week free..that person should be told about the buy 1 month get 1 week free. another is if someone says they want 4 we tell them if they go to 8 visits they can get 1 free or they can get 2 free if they buy 12 these are to generate bigger sales, customer dosent automatically get the free stuff....i do it every month usually in season its a discount on bigger slow season its more free if you buy bigger package. plus when these packages are sold i know my employees are doing their job...selling. theses upsells are not advertised anywhere except behind the desk

Rep Power: 20 | Re: Specials For Your Salon Excellent sales technique, Caribbean Tan Man. I am going to work on that for my sales staff and customers. I think the fact that it is not advertised and only offered at time of purchase is a good way to know if the staff are doing their jobs. Good commission builder for the staff as well. |

Rep Power: 17 | Re: Specials For Your Salon what I have learned the most in this tough time of sales... is to bundle.. lotions with packages.. that way people budget lotion $$ / Package $$ together.. it is a great value.. the clients get much better results and it really cuts down on the diversion.. bundles!! extra value tanning :) |
