applying bronzer lotion when not tanning ?

today i heard that if i'm trying to develop color but need to skip a day from the beds, i should still apply my lotion that day to get the bronzers to keep building color.

what do you think ?

Re: applying bronzer lotion when not tanning ?

I know more than a few people who do that. There are also "tinted" daily moisturizers that most salons carry that will do the job and cost less then a real tanning bed lotion.

Re: applying bronzer lotion when not tanning ?

We've been selling tanning lotions with DHA as daily moisturizers to clients with good feedback. They like the smells so much better then the jergens glow etc.

Re: applying bronzer lotion when not tanning ?

I do not recommend doing that at all really. Besides, your skin only takes on about the fourth of the bronzers in all lotions and moisturizers. Getting an unnatural tan can block you from getting a real tan in the tanning bed. Believe it or not. If you are using a bronzing lotion while in the tanning bed then you will be good, you are mostly going to rid your body of most of the bronzer anyway. Also, if you do decide to do that, make sure that you exfoliate and keep moisturized a lot. I hate to see girls or even guys with spots around their elbows from peeling bronzer and sunless tanner. Good luck to you my dear.

"Getting an unnatural tan can block you from getting a real tan in the tanning bed. Believe it or not."

I dont and I base that on experience.

Re: applying bronzer lotion when not tanning ?

Well that is good that you don't believe it. Maybe some people do. That is why I said that it "can" block you from getting a real tan. It isn't just about "you" there are several people that it "can" happen to. I did not say that it "will" block you from getting a tan. Thank you. :) I too, base this on experience.

Re: applying bronzer lotion when not tanning ?

Thats why I said "I" don't and "I" based that on experience. Not to also mention that bronzer sits into the "dead skin" layer, not even in the epidermis where UV light does it thing, it passed right through that dead skin layer. The amount of bronzers need to block a significant amount of UV light would be so much that a Caucasian person would look almost black. This is also why people with sunless tans have the SAME susceptibility to burning as they did before the application.

Re: applying bronzer lotion when not tanning ?

Oh boy. Just use the stupid bronzer lotion as a booster and take a shower AT LEAST once every 3 weeks and you'll be fine.

This is the way to build a "fake" tan not a real tan!

It's about real tanning not fake tanning!
