Help a noob, please?

Hey all!

I'm glad I found you guys! I have some questions and I hope you can help me. I am new here but not new to tanning.

This year I have been tanning for about a month and a half so far. I am having a heck of a time getting good color on my legs. In my previous years of tanning I *never* had trouble with my legs. So why is this year different? I don't really want to use a lotion specifically for my legs because I am pretty sure leg lotions have more self-tanner in them and I don't want that. Other than using a specific leg lotion, can anyone recommend a lotion that will help me? I would be most appreciative for any help!

TIA!

Re: Help a noob, please?

All you need to do is check the ingredients on the lotion and make sure (DHA) Dihydroxyacetone is not listed if you want to avoid self tanner. What type of bed are you tanning in now? Have you tried a tingle lotion on your legs yet?

Circulation...the older you get the harder it is to tan your legs. There are specific leg lotions, but I just use a tingle on my legs

Re: Help a noob, please?

Thanks, ladies! I currently use a HT60 booth at Hollywood Tans. I go the full 8 minutes at least 5 times a week. I do have tingle lotion but I have not used it that much (trying to get through some older bottles first).

So tingle lotion is my best bet then? I was thinking about buying Designer Skin's Bombshell next - is that a good one to try for what I need?

Thanks again!

Re: Help a noob, please?

Bombshell is an excellent choice. Alot of people have trouble tanning their legs in standups. That's why I asked what type of bed. I usually recommend my clients to do a laydown and put their legs down by the facials instead. One other thing you could do is go tanning just after a good workout... your skin will be more oxygenated and your blood flow will be elevated.

Re: Help a noob, please?

do you know if this HT changes their lamps often enough? You might want to try another salon or Smooth and Sleek by Fiji Blend.

Re: Help a noob, please?

Thank you, ladies!

I wondered if the fact that I was in a stand up booth was part of the problem. I still have another 2 months on my package and I can't go anywhere else until my package is done.

I have no idea how often they change their bulbs. But if they were old bulbs, wouldn't I be having trouble getting color everywhere? The bulbs in the booth are floor to ceiling so one would think if the bulb was bad, it would be bad the whole length. Or am I completely wrong thinking that?

Also, can I use a tanning lotion with bronzer as a moisturizer?

Thanks again, ladies! I appreciate the help very much!
