It's a joke that's why. Like how JA started the tingle lotions and then everyother half wit company started copying their idea and makeing them terrible now they are doing it with self tanner. Just fill a accelerator with DHA and tint it and now you can get anyone tan in any bed! Basically it's so you can have nitwits run your place and not have to worry about them not tanning people.

they're just gimmics to get you to sell products. I sale mine as accelerator with bronzer. Some of those bronzers are horrible leaving people streaked. I don't use them too often because I can't tell if I'm really getting a tan.

"accelerator" is not an ingredient. It's a term to describe a product that helps speed up the tanning process.

A magnifying glass could be called a tanning accelerator in theory.

Im no loner a huge fan of bronzers myself. Like Engfant said, how can you tell how tan they are really getting? Ever since DHA started being over used I really dont care for em. I used some light cosmetic bronzers, but once I see dihydroxyacetone (I cant believe that was in my spell checker!) I set the bottle down. I used iBronze from Mr. International - yuk!

Not only that but once they stop tanning they tan disappears REALLY quick until they get down to the REAL tan. Who will the blame? Usually the salon, I see it happen.

We now push good accelerators as much as possible. The bronzers we carry are REAL bronzers, not self tanners like some of these lotions could be called.

Okay....duh...my bad...i knew that! (sorry).... It's just trying to 'get my sea legs' back after all these years, being in a hurry and 'thinking about it too much'..... I guess the catalog symbols were just confusing......but thanks for straightening this blonde out ;)

That is why I prefer to sell lotions without the bronzers....so you can actually see how the process is coming along. So you don't develope a false sense of how tan you 'really' are. Only after they develop a good base color (and are maxed on time on their bed) that I offer the accelerators with bronzers....to make them feel they've 'kicked it up a notch'...while still developing their own tan.

But your comment has me curious..... what lotions lay claim to being a 'bronzer', but you feel are just 'self tanners'???

Like I said....I am very overwhelmed at learning about all the different lotion lines and such now...but, I love to research and educate myself with new (to me) products...... I am figuring out (thanks to all of you on this forum) which lines are excellent, great sellers and crap to stay away from.... I really am learning a lot...even tho my husband gives me 'the look' when he realizes I'm sitting here reading and reading and reading and reading....(well, you get the idea!)
