Red face Is there a " new ingredient " in lotions that is similar to DHA

Is there a new ingredient in lotions similar to DHA in that it gives a natural looking tan that asts for 3-5 days. It is not a temporary bronzer like caramel or walnut shell extract. I believe it is called " Derma dark " and it is in some Swedish Beauty tanning products. Is it more natural looking than DHA. It states that it only lasts 3-5 days while DHA can last 5-7 days.
ANY information about this will be greatly appreciated. Thank you and have a great week and weekend !!!!

Derma Dark is not a bronzer in itself, its a group of natural bronzers.

Here is some good info:

DERMA DARK?

Re: Is there a " new ingredient " in lotions that is similar to DHA

Just another non streaky bronzer that mostly washes off with first shower. Nothing MAGICAL with this stuff. DHA is completely different as it will last 5-7 days IN HIGH AMOUNTS.

If you put this bronzer on your skin and DONT tan and then take a shower you will see NO COLOR after the shower.

With DHA you will still see color as we all know even if you dont tan. DHA is considered a self tanner and putting too much of this in an accelerator lotion is ridiculous in my eyes. What is with all these 15X bronzer lotions anyway? This marketing is just getting out of hand.

Thats all it is - MARKETING.

Re: Is there a " new ingredient " in lotions that is similar to DHA

I am quoting this from member " UNITY " ...
" What DermaDark does: First they are clear, scent free bronzers. They also do not wash off, you can shower right after you tan. While they are bronzers, they essentially jump start the skins tanning process to get it darker. Think if as being more like a skin treatment for a darker tan than a bronzer. But this process takes a little time, effects are most noticed that day after the tan. The best part is they do NOT need UV light to work. I think there is a daily moisturizer out there that has it, while its not a self-tanner (wont get you darker and darker) you could use it to maintain a tan for several days if you can not get to a tanning bed."

Re: Is there a " new ingredient " in lotions that is similar to DHA

You could try something with a higher percentage of eurythulose in it (which is basically a man-made DHA but lasts a little longer than just DHA alone).

Dermadark is not a topical bronzer like DHA or other natural bronzers. I don't even know why they call it a bronzer really, because it confuses people. Dermadark is a plant based enzyme that increases the levels of tyrosine in your skin and in turn helping your skin to create more melanin.
It's actually been around for a while, I was told by a rep. They just hadn't had enough products containing it to present a whole line. The Biotanning complex and M.A.P. are different names for the dermadark technology.

Re: Is there a " new ingredient " in lotions that is similar to DHA

Thank you EVERYONE for helping me with the answer to my question about DermaDark. To UV MAN, I completely AGREE that the lotions being sold now are focusing on how many bronzers, instant ( like caramel , walnut shell ectract, carrot extract ) and then the lotions with the instant bronzers and DHA also. It seems to me that the lotions arent " accelerating " the tanning process, they are using lotions with many many bronzers instead of helping the lotions actually helping the skin getting tan quicker and also with more moisturizers. I rarely hear any new lotions about " tingle ", it seems tingle has run its course and now the focus is the number of bronzers in a lotion.

Have a great weekend !!!

Tanners love bronzer because most are so impatient and want to see results RIGHT NOW. lol

Re: Is there a " new ingredient " in lotions that is similar to DHA

Tanners also like bronzers because the derms and everyone else are "feeding" them that they should be tanning less, and moving toward more sunless products. By pushing the 10X bronzer products and giving them more and more "self-tanning, instant tanning, you don't even have to get into the bed and it will tide you over!" products, you are slowly but surely driving off your customers and turning them into non-tanners!
