Re: CRYSTALX 10-TESTED

If you say through the AG/SB seminar thingy, they gave out a bag of samples at the end. I still have mine, not brave enough to try it yet lol

we dont have to sell it at the prices that are specified in the books, that is what they suggest-thats why it is called suggested retail price.

i am not making anyone look bad, so a department store that carries an expensive line of jeans looks bad when they are $10 less than the store across the street? no it is a competative business and i plan on competing in it.
I agree with you.

Re: CRYSTALX 10-TESTED

Thanks austinbarbie...and yes i did go through the ag/sb seminar and got the bag, no crystal though. I would imagine they will be packaging the new crystals x 10 the same way they did with crystal. The sample comes in a tube. As far as price, like any lotion, if you have high end customers that want the best, they will pay suggested retail price, you dont have to discount it. If the customer wants something less expensive or this isnt your customer base, then dont sell it. Discounting it only makes other salons look bad. Lets not be bottom feeders amoungst ourselves. Try offering so many free tans for x number of dollars spent, that way its not percieved as "cheapening" the product for those that can sell it at regular price. JMO

Re: CRYSTALX 10-TESTED

I don't get it, if the lady you gave a sample to liked the stuff so much that she bought it on the spot, shouldn't that tell you that other customers may do the same. Why assume that people are not willing to pay a certain amount for a lotion. Maybe you wouldn't do so, but we're not talking about you, we're talking about your customers. Why not give your customers the choice.

When JA came out with Private Reserve, I thought nobody would spend $75 on a bottle of lotion at my salon. I put a few on the shelf to test them, and it turned out I was wrong. (plus the super expensive lotions on your shelves make the $50 bottle look cheap)

I suggest that when it comes to business, don't make assumptions. Instead, test the products (by putting a few on your shelves), before you decide what your clients are willing to pay for things. The high end products may not become your most popular product, but it doesn't mean you can't make some extra dough off of them, and please some of your prestiguous clients.

Re: CRYSTALX 10-TESTED

OK well my salons all have it . only difference with design is the bottle is clear and black. The bag is a terrycloth color tan. It has been flying off shelves. Been selling 8.5oz bottles for $110 and the mini 1oz for $20.00 people absolutley love the results !!!

Re: CRYSTALX 10-TESTED

Hmm....I think that it is fine to sell lotion less than SUGGESTED retail. It's all in how much money your business has and how many customers you want to keep. I find that not cheating customers out of their money keeps them coming back. And in my personal opinion, $110 for ANY lotion is ripping someone off, suggested retail or not.

ALSO, just because a business lowers the retail, it doesn't mean there will be 0 profit. It only means that the business may not get 100% profit.

Re: CRYSTALX 10-TESTED

Also, I must say that Crystal 10 is no where near as good to your skin as the original. It made me sticky, and smelly like menthol. Also didn't really make a huge difference with my tan.

Re: CRYSTALX 10-TESTED

We went to the AG show last November and they make a good presentation. We tried Crystal X but feel we could not sell lotion at the price in our area. We are test marketing Priceless and a few new lotions by Designer Skin. Our busy season is starting we tanned 70 today hope everyone has a good 2007, PatParadise
