Salon giving free tan lotion!

I paid 35.00$ for a month and the beds range from 12-30 min. and they all look new (there is 4). They let me choose what tan lotion I want to use out of anything i want in the 32 oz. bottles. They tell me its best to use a diff. lotion every time to get a better tan and I do and i can see myself getting darker. My question is, is it common for salons to give you free lotion? Is it really good to rotate lotions?

Lotions i've used are Worship Me, Tao, Revival, and Fortune (this was actually in likea 13 oz. bottle). They just let me take the bottle of it in wiht me when I tan.

Oh my yes, it is very common for salons to turn their backs on the potential of making money to stay open by giving many things away. I'm shocked they are charging you to tan!

its most likely free because they got it free and wont be forever. they probally want you to buy a bottle of it if you like one of them best. chances are they are getting ****** you keep taking the free sample without any interest in buying a bottle. or they could just be stupid...which is very likely

I sample out new lotions that I get free from DS to let people try it out once. It does help in the sales dept. Although there are some that have come to expect it and they get ****** off when there is none to be had. (actually, I have like 35 bottles of Tao, Revival and Worship Me under the desk, just not giving any more to them...)

Hmmm...and you only pay $35.00 a month to tan in any bed you want? Sounds like this salon won't be in business much longer...

No, I am not crazy. This is the absolute answer to stop your tanners from buying tanning product at beauty suppliers, retail stores, off the Internet or at flea markets. Tanners buy tanning products from these “diversion” sources because they believe that they are saving money that way. When you include a free indoor tanning product with every monthly membership you are eliminating that reason to buy products from somewhere else.

I suggest you giveaway a product that you can buy for less than $5.00 with a retail value about $15.00. Your discussion point is getting more than just tanning but total skin care sessions and lotion. The reality is the membership is $15.00 less than the monthly fee because of the value of the indoor tanning product.
What if a tanner does not want the indoor tanning product? It’s a package deal, period! The indoor tanning product is a gift and can not be separated from the package. But, for advanced tanners that need a better indoor tanning product, you will allow them to trade their gift bottle in for a $15.00 (the retail value of the product) credit towards another bottle of indoor tanning products.

If they do not want the indoor tanning product, now is a great time to ask if they use and understand tanning products or what tanning product they are using if not the one included with the packaged membership program. Giving away a free bottle of tanning products with every monthly renewal promotes proper lotion use. If tanners say that they have not used their bottle during the month, check their visits knowing a bottle should only last 10 visits.

Giving away a free bottle of indoor tanning products every month clearly eliminates diversion and increases lotion revenue because of product upgrades and proper usage amounts.

If you don't sample out lotion to the non users then how will they ever know? you just have to figure out which are the spenders and which are the freeloaders.
