Trying to break plateau
Hi everyone
I currently have a olive base tan and Im looking to go chocolate dark. I've been using California Tan's Pyro(http://www.californiatan.com/product/exc/detail/pyro) for about 5 sessions in a stand up solarium, and I've found i have a tingle for about 1 hour where my skin becomes semi-red, but then the skin returns to my original color. Furthermore, there is no darkening of the skin....if anything, it has only maintained the color. I feel as though my skin has hit a color plateau. Could you suggest anything to force my skin to darken ? Im after a extreme tingle lotion with no bronzer. |

Re: Trying to break plateau
Have you tried a higher level bed? I'm not into tingles so I can't really suggest one. I have clients that like Goddess, by Designer Skin. How long have you been using Pyro? Good to change lotions AND beds.

Re: Trying to break plateau
Well the stand up solarium has more rays than the sun ! lol......i think its more a case of the lotion.
My skin can easily go darker through tanning at the beach, but living in a very cold environment has resigned me to indoor tanning only. I've been using Pyro for 5 sessions (over the space of 3 weeks) and it hasn't given/shown any positive results. I consider it a massive waste of money for those with an olive base-tan. The tingle isn't very potent either. |

Re: Trying to break plateau
Have you asked your tanning consultant at your salon what they suggest to do? Try a single packet of some different lotions until one impressed you. And still try a different bed.

Re: Trying to break plateau
They suggested I use Pyro. She claimed it had an extreme tingle factor and I would turn red like a lobster. I guess she was wrong ! The redness was very mild and lasted for about 30 minutes.
I guess I'll just have to experiment with different lotions to see what works best on my skin. |

Re: Trying to break plateau
That is what a lot of my clients do when they aren't sure of a lotion. each time you tan, try a different single pack. You will know when you like one and then you can get the bottle. good luck. ;)

Re: Trying to break plateau
Pyro is a hot tingle and you should be getting something IMO. So, you've used Pyro 5 times over the last 3 weeks? So, on average you're going about twice a week. I agree with CAYENNE. Switch your bed first, but not your lotion. If you're still not getting anything, ask the consultant when the last time they changed bulbs was. You may need to just find another salon if they aren't changing their bulbs.

Re: Trying to break plateau
Are you using a tantoo?
If you are and you are not getting the results that you want. Probably the lamps need to be replaced or you need to change your rutine. Do you exfoliate? Do you go into a hot tub? What type of moisturizer do you use? Just a thought. |
