Dumb question

Is there any advantage to using one of the higher end salon lotions if you're out tanning the old fashioned way in the sun?

Re: Dumb question

Well I think you should be wearing an SPF for outdoors. Many/most indoor tanning lotions do not have an SPF in them.

But, I do know many tanners that use an indoor lotion outdoors.

Does that make sense?!?!

Re: Dumb question

What are you asking exactly? Using an indoor tanning lotion instead of like a cheap drug store lotion or no lotion at all?? Indoor tanning lotions provide moisture and nutrients that cheap lotions cannot provide....resulting in a better looking, longer lasting tan. However, you also need some sort of protection outdoors. You still need an SPF lotion as well.

WOOOO HOOOO doesn't describe it. When in Aruba, I use a tingle lotion. I can only take it for about 20 minutes though. End up having to hold onto a palm tree. Great tan but I have to admit, painful getting it. Feels sooooo good to jump in the water after.

Re: Dumb question

You can mix a scentless suncreen like Nutrogena with your indoor tanning lotion and get the best of both worlds

Re: Dumb question

Don't believe the hype. You don't need to spend a lot of money on lotions. Just smear a little Crisco on and fry right.

If you want tingle, mix with equal parts turpentine, Vick's salve and Purex. Then mix this concoction half and half with the Crisco.

If you are in to bronzers, add 1/2 a bottle of Kiwi liquid shoe polish to a pint of Crisco. Use either brown, or cordovan, or a combination of the two depending on your skin type. And yes it needs to be Kiwi.

Re: Dumb question

LMAO thanks billable, I needed that.

Jacks Mommy, that's the more detailed answer to my very vague question. Exactly what I was asking. Would I need to use an SPF in addition to a tanning lotion. Thanks much :)

Re: Dumb question

You're welcome. Here's what I do on the beach..... I use John Abate Tanning Oil on top of my Cal Tan SPF 6 or 8......and of course that is on top of my killer tan ;)
