Hi,

I am a newbie when it comes to tanning lotions. So I have a few questions. I would like to tan myself up this summer and would like to know what everyone thinks of Banana Boat products. Does the "tanning lotion" contain both taning ingrediants and uv ray protection? Also is it worthwhile for a newbie to try the sunless tan products? How long do sunless tans stay on the body on average?

Sorry for all the questions.

Thanks.

do yourself and your tanning salon a favor DO NOT USE BANANA BOAT, OCEAN POTION OR ANY OTHER LOTION FOUND IN DEPARTMENT STORES in a tanning bed. they may say safe for tanning beds but for all of us here we know different. They do nothing but damage acrylics and do not tan as good. you can lay out in the sun all you want with these but they will not help you in the tanning bed.

Ditto!
Do yourself a favor and if you are going to invest in yourself, invest in the largest organ you have and use a professional quality skin tanning lotion.

Outdoor lotions are used for tanning ourdoors! Like others have said, invest in your skin and buy a good indoor lotion from your local salon if you're planning to tan indoors. You'll be happier with a better darker tan, that will last longer and you'll make the salon owner happy as well! It's a win - win situation!

If you are on a tight budget, look for something like Brown Envy by Synergy. It's a very inexpensive salon quality (won't harm the beds) lotion that gives pretty good results considering the price. Better results than you'll get from Banana Boat (whether you're tanning indoors or out). Emerald Bay products are also decent for the low priced ones. But, if I were you, I would splurg and get a high quality lotion. Your skin will thank you

And, you might want to check out www.iamtan.com. It's the sister site to this one and is geared toward tanners. You'll find lots of lotion suggestions, ratings, and tanning advice there.

Oh sorry, I didn't realize this is an indoor tanning forum. I am only intersted in outdoor and possibly sunless spray on.
