Sup ~ if you are REALLY FAIR (and it sounds like you are) .. many of the DHA bronzers would not be a good match for your skin COLOR.... if you really are intent in getting 'some color' check to see if there is a QUALITY salon that provides AIRBRUSH tan... (this is a dha stain and not a real tan.... and a QUALITY salon would not LAY A MASSIVE LOAD of bronzer on you....
you would rather go 2 - 3 sessions with the litest COLOR possible than look like a punkin Let me check on an item that SB carries (it's a daily moisturizer with a small bit of DHA (sunless chemical) in it..... I don't carry it - so I am not sure if it is meant for Tanned Skin or if it will help put a little color on WHITE skin ~ I'll post once I find out |

this is the home page for the Prescriptives Cosmetics.... you will notice that many places are diverting the product cheeper.... but let me caution you on this: #1 - you need the professional help of a cosmetologist to get your correct color (or you could add 3 or 4 near misses to your vanity) #2 - I would hold anything 'discounted' as highly suspect for quality issues... it MAY be fine ~ but I never trust MAYBE Any Mall with a large department stores ( Macy's - Herbergers - etc) will have Clinique Counters. |

thanks a lot sheila, appreciate your help Lastly, I will go to a salon tomorrow and ask some more about the airbrush. The airbrush tan is just another type of lotion, or an actual session I would need to sit through? The DHA is not detrimental to those using meds like I am? Lastly, the prescriptives is meant for people already with a base tan, or would work for my case (white skin wanting a small bit of color on the face)?

The prescriptives is not a sunless tanner (like the Air Brush or Spray Booths are)... it is just a fine line of Cosmetics geared specifically for problem acne problems.... When you look at a Revlon line of foundations - you may have a span of 3-4 shades.... but the Quality lines are 30 shades of all and inbetween....
As you are not concerned about the color on your body - - I would seek a sunless airbrush application that does the face and neck, down into the chest area.... A major problem with ALL TYPES OF COSMETIC attempts for a tan... is that MANY CLIENTS EXPECT immediate Golden Brown.... but if you remember ART CLASSES, if the BASE color is tooo white or toooo yellow.... you will only get a Yellow or Orange result... (it's just like playing with crayons ) There are 2-3 levels of 'bronzing agents' (dha) many clients are 'unhappy' with the lighter bronzer, simply cause they have no patience..... with really light skin - you WILL need more than one application---- the 2nd one about 3 days later.... It is not my favorite suggestion to make.... I am a lover and a believer in the BENEFITS of UVB.... the browning from UVA is just a nice add on |

Sup ~ I will continue with you on this via private messages, however I did want to point out to you and to other members of this site, that last nite this ENTIRE thread was REMOVED FROM VIEW with the exception of your FIRST POST.
I could only FIND the thread by looking in thru my own last 100 posts...... Note the time it was REPLACED by the kiddies - - Sheila in Minnesota Tantalk Angel Posted: 2/05/04 9:11a • .....’ sup - while you are taking these meds you should NOT tan OR use a sunless product... ~~ and then the thread continues with the nite time post times. THIS type of kc*fen around with posts is not only damaging to the integrity of online but will certainly be the death of tantalk - - not MY ‘mean’ posts - but this site’s lack of comprehension and severe lack of ETHICS Please understand- that when Tantoday allowed Moderators to ‘maliciously edit posts’ replacing words in your post..... it was the beginning of the end..... But malicious and pure ignorant are 2 separate sins. Mike Chunn - you are ultimately responsible ( not just for playing ‘Q’ with pm’s ) but for the behavior of your Moderator Staff..... When the people here understand what CAN HAPPEN to a post with their name on it - THEY WILL NOT STAY HERE. |

DESIGNER SKIN makes a graet face tanner that is nice and light, non acnegenic, and hypoallergenic. I beleive that Halo is just a moisturizer. Or do a dry faced tan (no lotion) and use a light non acnegenic bronzer.
Australian Gold also makes a product called "beach in a Bottle' that is a fast action self taning spray. It can even be used through makeup. |
