bronzing lotion as self-tanner?

Does the DHA in a bronzing lotion need the UV light from the beds to "activate"? If one were to apply bronzing lotion such as Browning Fury or Dark Sexy Tan without going tanning, would your skin get darker?

I ask this because I wear a silver 3-ring "braided" ring on the ring finger of my left hand. (no I am not married or engaged) After several guys asked why I had a ring on ("do you have a boyfriend?" "are you engaged?"), I started to realize that it was a reason that guys are hesitant to talk to me. Well, last weekend I went out without it on and I just looked like an adulterous wife!!! hehehehe white pale band of skin on my dark finger.

If I apply a bronzing lotion specifically on that area of my finger, will it darken the area? Or should I buy a regular self-tanner for the job?

Sorry if this is a stupid question.

I know that Ag expresso will work as a self tanner. Others probabaly will also.

I have asked a question similar to this a while ago, to California Tan.

They replied and told me that the DHA in Caltan's products was not as potent as a self tanner....
As for other brands I dunno...?

njchica.... help for a fellow jersey gurl! The answer to your question is "yes" it will work. I sometimes use a little Lustrous on my face at work when I'm not tanning to give me that little extra glow.

I recently started tanning with a bronzer on both my body and my face. It has done a fantastic job... everybody wants the tan I have.

my question is about using a bronzer without going tanning... I have this white band on my finger and I was wondering if I applied the lotion before bed or something, would the DHA work even without the UV light.

I guess it's a dumb question and I should just buy the self-tanner stuff.

Save your money instead and use your bronzers instead. They will do exactly what you want them to do without the UV exposure.
