I think I now carry every lotionout ther but emerald bay. I know there was a lot metiuoned about it, butI still need a push, to put it up on my shelves. I just feel seeing that it is so inexpensive, I might loose sales on the higher end products.
What is your experiencce with it? Thanks for the help |

The Emerald Bay line is the only CalTan lotion we carry, mainly due to the inexpensiveness. We find that teens are able to afford and it is reasonable enough to use in our starter packs.
I was never a big fan of Emerald Bay or CalTan for that matter. I've found that the entire Emerald Bay line works well and smells great. Key - I really don't think that this line will deter people from buying a more expensive lotion. I think that you can use this line to your benefit. Use it to introduce newbies to the benefits of using a lotion. They will eventually want to try new things, thereby spending more money on a more expensive lotion. |

I carry the EB line for the fact that it is a good newbie sale and it is great for my starter bags...
They always want to try something new after that and it usually leads to a better quality lotion. I feel you get what you pay for and it is a good base lotion. I do carry the sext tan line but that is all for Cal Tan... oops I lied, I do have INSURANCE on my shelf. The coconut colada sells because it smells great but I feel like it is too thin and sticky when applied. |

I carry the Definately Dark and Sunburst Sorbert. Have sold a few of them to people I couldn't sell anything else to. I keep them out of the way and hard to see so I always to try to sell higher end stuff first. All of my employees know that they are the last choice to sell after the other higher end products.

Key, I will not be the first to tell you that Emerald Bay is a great hit. I will tell you that sell lots of the Def. Dark, Suburst Sorbet and Mojo. The CocaButter moves pretty good also. Inexpensive for beginners, but good results. They ususally will want to move up to a higher line so think of it this way. Profit margin is the same. High or low end lotions. Better to sell them less expensive lotions than them bring in from Wally World EuroTan junk.

Key, I understand your delimma, and agree with Buntanner. I have Marg. Madness and Sunburst sorbet. Why? Because I tried a sample and was impressed by the results, but more the price than anything. This is my reasoning. I would much rather sell premium lotions with L-Tyrosine, C2O, Etc. because I know they are awesome for skin nourishment and tanning results. however some people WILL NOT SPEND $50 on a lotion no matter what. Soooo, I sell them these lotions, (better this than Banana Boat) only thing is, $15.99 will not do. I charge $25 to make it worth my time, and make the price more in line with the other product. Besides I like the cool rebates Cal-Tan is offering on this product, and I appreciate lotion companies that send full samples out to Everyone..... Thats confidence, That's Cal-Tan. (the 400% mark up ain't bad either) So, if I were you , I'd carry it with caution, but make it worth your while.

Just moved these down in the display case today, less visibility. Coconut Colada is great for men because the consistency is close to a gel and gets past the body hair. Not the best smell or results, but at least they will use something. Definitely Dark is a big hit for our starter packs, great results for the price. Thinking of putting Coconut Colada in all starter packs and retail Def Dark for $25. Would have no problem moving it at that price, we get it for Mojo now.
