1-2 years from publishing date of 12/22/2015. On the surface they seem some what ok. The devil is in the details. We have already engaged our FDA Panel and Council so more details to follow in the next week or two.

Let alone the ban, these numbers are disturbing:

"The proposed device restriction would apply to manufacturers and tanning facility operators. There are approximately 18,000 to 19,000 indoor tanning salons and 15,000 to 20,000 other facilities, such as health clubs, spas, and other commercial establishments, that offer tanning services in the U.S."

They are doing this as a direct result of the lawsuit.In the lawsuit the tanning industry says they are following fda protocol for tanning beds.

The fda is completely in bed with the medical pharmaceutical industries.

So as soon as the judge certified the lawsuit ,the fda comes out and say's it going to do this and that.Coincidence?

What is really cool about this though is that eating bacon has higher cancer risks than tanning does.

So in order to get around the fact that they won't dare attack the pork industry,you will see magical new studies that will appear that reverses the cancer stats on bacon and increases them on tanning.

Watch for them!

Nothing at all to do with the lawsuit. These new rules were written a long time ago and have been pending for over a year.

again, false numbers by the gov....20,000 salon? Not quite, check out the article in Forbes. Our industry has been decimated. We haven't got our **** together enough to make any changes and they are picking us off one by one. It's not another nail in our coffin...our coffins have already been nailed shut. They just haven't burried us all yet.

The Tanning Tax By the Numbers

According to the American Suntanning Association, nearly 10,000 tanning salons have closed since the tax went into effect. This has resulted in the loss of nearly 81,000 jobs, according to industry estimates.

Prior to Obamacare, there were over 18,000 tanning salons in America–now there are just over 8500.

Prior to Obamacare, over 164,000 people worked for tanning salons, including the self-employed proprietors. Now that number is down to 83,000, almost exactly half of what was there before.
