Some landlords have taken a hit as well.Not all those spaces are magically filled with a new business..

I blame the economy and bad publicity.As well as at one point there were just too many salons in certain areas.

If you had tried the same thing in ANY industry there would be casualties.

It was just a few short years ago that a lot of salon owners were blaming the price of gas for salon failures.

I guess that can't be done anymore.

Kooky, there isn't going to be more money for you because this is all leading up to a total tan ban, don't you get it!
90% of salon closings are due to bad publicity because people believe this crap and why shouldn't they, it's coming from Dr's and the F.D.A, I'd believe it too if I wasn't in this industry. The tan fad is over for most, it's not even acceptable these days and I hate even telling people what I do for a living because I don't want to hear the back lash from it!

Do what I do.Make sure you have your facts straight.Reading the 30 something page document on the lawsuit will help you with enough info.

Then when someone ,weather it be a client or a a hole relative at christmas dinner.Just simply offer them 5,000 $ for a copy of ONE LEGITIMATE study that backs the supposed risks associated with professional salon use.

It shuts them up every time.

The same things were being said by the same people 20 years ago, salons are closing due to lack of business acumen. If they ban tanning then move to spray tanning. There I just saved the industry! That will be about tree fiddy!

Doesn't surprise me as to , putting the sticker, must be 18 year old sticker on all beds.....
