Re: Welcome ITA
Thank you very much for the warm welcome!!! You’re right a number would be helpful 703-336-3632 sorry about that. You can also email me at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org. My position being relatively new here, I cannot speak from experience regarding much of the on goings from the past. What I can say is that clearly the majority of the budget is spent on dealing with direct salon related battles, mostly in the state trenches. Many of the Manufacturers participate in these battles because they know that when the salons flourish, so does their manufacturing and distribution business.
Clearly more money would make for a stronger defense, but the ITA has purposely attempted to keep the salon level cost to a minimum while still providing the protection role it has worked so hard to fortify. In keeping the costs minimized, the crew here spends all of its resources on the trench fighting and relationship building with lawmakers and this leaves very little time for communication. Part of my new responsibilities are to help bridge that gap in communications. I think that you will find that there is very little waste inside the ITA and although there are allegations of ego’s, all of the board members participate without any pay and completely on their own dime. Each and every board member is spending both time and money helping protect our industry.
Creating this forum was my idea in hopes to be able to reach out further into the salon sector and let them know what we are continuing to work toward. I welcome your ideas and I hope to have enough time to address each and every one of them.
I hope that you will see that the ITA is evolving and as a result your confidence in us will be enhanced.
