Rep Power: 0 | What am I doing wrong? Ok I have to vent. Since january of 2005 I have lost 80 pounds. Well of course you come to a standstill after awhile. Well now I am hitting it all again, I am doing an ellipitical machine about 5-6 days a week for at least 45 mins, usually an hour. Then I do the formostar body wrap at least 2 times a week. I'm not doing a special diet or counting calories or anything. But I drink water all day long, I eat salads a couple times a week, I eat alot of the lean cuisine and smart ones meals. Why have I not lost a **** pound? lol Im wodering if im' not getting enough sleep, I Get around 6 hours a night but its broken sleep.... just had to vent and see if anyone had any pointers. |

Try to cut back on the Lean Cuisine and Smart Ones....Frozen dinners have TONS of sodium, which will cause you to retain water, and not lose as much weight. Buy most of your groceries from around the "outside" of the store....Produce, meat, dairy....try not to eat so much processed foods. "Fat Free" does not equal healthy. Change your workout, do something other than the ellipitical, your body may be too used to it by now. Is there a sport you enjoy? Raquetball, tennis...or just even speed walking might do the trick. Try some weight training....muscle does weigh more than fat, but the more muscle you have, the faster you will burn calories. Hope this helps. I've lost 35 pound myself since September..... Congrats on your amazing acheivement by the way....I know how hard this is.

Rep Power: 0 | Re: What am I doing wrong? Yeah its just hard, I work 12 hours a day M-F so I can't cook my meals. I know thats a downfall. I will start walking once it gets warmer outside, I do have the core secrets ball and workout. I Might try to do that again. I try to do more resistance on the ellipitcal each time to help that out. Ugh, what we women do lol |

Here's another tip...try to get 3 servings of low-fat dairy per day....it will actually help you lose weight. Low-fat yogurt is actually better than fat free as far as sugar content. Even better is low-fat cottage cheese...if you like it, most people don't I guess. I am not a milk drinker at all, so I try to get a skim milk serving with cereal. I'll tell you, once you get used to eating a certain way, it gets easier... I was still gaining weight after I had Jackson because of the way I was eating when I was pregnant...I never stopped! And you don't get much exercise when your are at home with a baby for 6 weeks!

Rep Power: 21 | Re: What am I doing wrong? PCS--first off congrats! That is an incredible weight loss! Second, I think you hit the nailon the head about the sleep. I had a baby 10 months ago. During my pregnancy I gained 65 wopping pounds. I lost 30 within the first week (water)...but couldn't lose any more to save my life (& I exclusivly breastfed for the first 6 months, still nursing now...they say that will shed the lbs) Anyway, I obviously wasn't getting the sleep I use to get. I read an article that said when we don't get at least 7 hrs of sleep a night, our bodies go into the same mode as a diabetic....and it makes it literally impossible to lose weight. All of the sudden in the past 6 weeks it has just started dropping off...I've lost 13 lbs & I eat Smart Ones for almost every meal during the week. I am trying to follow weight watchers but my points are that of a 300 lb man because of the nursing. I think the problem is in the lack of sleep! |

Rep Power: 21 | Re: What am I doing wrong? Eat every 3 hours to keep your metabolism up. I have been drinking High Protein slim fast shakes & South Bdeach diet meal replacement bars (high protein) as snacks & protein seems to make me stay fuller longer. I don't each as much at regular meals now. |
