Rep Power: 0 | worried about fibroids Hi. Does anyone know about, or had fibroids? I suffered heavy bleeding constantly for 5 months before I ended up embarrasingly in A&E in May not knowing what an earth was going on with me. I visted my doctor several times within that time who decided to change my pill to the mini pill, which made things worse. Then they took me off the pill completely, which made things even worse. All this time they made no other investigations as to why I was bleeding so much. Eventually I got the money together to have a scan at Bupa which revealed a fibroid inside my uterus. Since then I have had a hysteroscopy that revealed two fibroids and now I'm waiting for my next hyteroscopy in April to hopefully remove them. I'm really scared that something might go wrong and they do a hysterectomy. Has this happend to anyone? or does anyone know of this happening to someone else? I'm only 28 and am desperate to be able to have children in the future. I'm told that if I leave the fibroids that I would most possibly miss-carry if I were to conceive. Just wondered if anyone could put my mind at rest a bit.

Rep Power: 103 | Re: worried about fibroids First, I'm not too sure about the wisdom of signing onto a tanning website to get medical advice, unless it was to spam the 2 links in your signature (that will continue to be removed if you put them back.) You appear to be in Sweden and posting through a server in the Ukraine and talking about a British owned medical facility. But, just in case there is a valid explanation, here are a few places you might want to look for info. Also, the British United Provident Association will have patient oriented material that will be available to you free of charge. http://www.4woman.gov/faq/fibroids.htm http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/ute...broids/DS00078 http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/ute...broids/UF99999 http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/uterinefibroids.html http://www.womens-health.co.uk/fibroids.asp These are some "plain English" websites that are pretty easy to understand. If you want more indepth information do a google search on Leiomyomas, the medical name for uterine fibroid tumors. You will get all the info you need.

Rep Power: 51 | Re: worried about fibroids I had a hysterectomy when I was 28 due to endometriosis. It's a painful procedure but worth it in the end. I have fibroids as well, but they are not harmful to me at this time. But I have them elsewhere...... Hang in there, you will be fine. And happy as **** that you will never have a period again!!! :)

Rep Power: 0 | Re: worried about fibroids My best friend has the same problem you do. She got a hormone shot that shrinks the fibroids, and she will still be able to have children. Her only other option was to have a hysterectomy. If you are wanting to have children, get the shot, or at least ask your doctor about it.

Rep Power: 34 | Re: worried about fibroids I'd recomend DS spellbound, heavy smell will cover up the dump smell and probably clog the pores enough to minimize bleeding. hope that helps... |

Rep Power: 103 | Re: worried about fibroids You could drink mineral oil. It sucks for tanning but greases up the pipes really good so the turds can't get hung up and slide right out. Slick pipes mean less strain on the hemmies.
