Rep Power: 0 | I work out every day. I am 16 and I weigh 128 pounds. I want to lose 10 pounds because I am so short, only 5 foot. I run two and a half miles every day and I do sit ups, weight training, and I cut my daily calorie intake down to under 1000. I am at a loss! I have no idea what to do! I need to lose this weight in about 5 weeks!!! Please, anyone that has any suggestions or anyone who could tell me why I am not losing weight would be a life saver to me!!! THANKS!!!!! _________________ "I don't diet. I just don't eat as much as I'd like to." - Linda Evangelista, Supermodel[ This Message was edited by: tanLOWsexyGERE on 2005-07-19 22:41 ] |

Rep Power: 22 | First of all… get off the scale. Muscle weighs more than fat. If you are training with weights and doing cardio chances are, you are in great shape. According to the BMI(Body Mass Index) someone of your weight and height should be between 128 lbs and 132 lbs. If you are considering diet supplements….. don’t take them.. If you are working out every day and only eating 1000 Calories that is not a good idea. Your body needs the nutrients. The next time you go to the gym talk to a CPT (Certified Personal Trainer) he or she will be able to help you reshape and tone your body without starving or over-training it. If you don’t workout at a gym talk to your PE teacher. _________________ [ This Message was edited by: Kay on 2005-07-20 08:16 ] |

Rep Power: 22 | Are you on any medications? I had a friend that dieted & exercised religiously & she could never lose any weight. Come to find out she was on an anti-depressant that for some reason kept her from losing weight. As soon as she stopped taking it...she lost 25 pounds real fast. |

I had the same problem but not with anti-deressant pills, but with the birth control pill!!! First I was on Depo (the shot) and I gained 15 pounds. Then my doctor switched me to a pill called Aviane you take it for 3 weeks then you are off for a week and you don't have a period except for 4 times a year. And I'm still on it. And that week that I'm not taking the pill I gain water weight and I try working out, but I can't seem to lose enough weight. My doctor said it was because of the pills. So I continue to take them because if I got pregnate thats a lot of weight you can't get rid of!!! LOL. So if you are on any kind of birth control, that may be your problem. Just call your doctor. |

Rep Power: 0 | I take birth control pills, and am thinking about the shot, but I did hear that 70% of women on the shot gain at least 2-15 pounds and I am trying to LOSE the weight, lol. Other than that, no I'm not on any medications. Also, my BMI says that I am overweight...It is like a 25.8 or 28.5, can't rememeber which. |

Rep Power: 0 | The fad here is ear stapling or accupuncture. My wife tried it and lost 33 pounds in approx. 45 days without a diet change or exercising. We've had at least 50 people from the salon go get theirs done as well including some in the medical field. It's kind of weird, but has worked for her & others. She lost 12 pounds the first week and reduced her body fat also, may be worth looking into. Basically it tells your brain receptors that you feel full and you don't eat as much. It started working the first day she had the procedure done. Good luck! |

Rep Power: 22 | Being in shape takes WORK. The key to weight loss is a lifestyle change. An exercise program needs to be incorporated and eating habits need to change. Look around at the people that are in good shape and stay in shape. You will notice that they don’t pop pills or starve themselves they workout on a regular basis, and eat healthy foods. _________________ [ This Message was edited by: Kay on 2005-07-21 14:15 ] |

Rep Power: 20 | 1000 calories a day sounds way to low! You should be closer to 2000 calories. Lean protein, and complex carbs, and a small amount of fat. Don't snack unless it is healthful foods. Fruits, Vegtables, Lean Meats, Nuts, toast w/peanut butter on it, oatmeal w/flax seed. Very little sugar!!! |
