Tinea is NOT caused by tanning. It's caused by a build up of oil in the skin. The more humid the weather, the worse off the person is. I've been a tanner for 2 years and have been getting it my whole life. It CANNOT be spread. It's something EVERYONE can get. Kinda like acne. Some can live in grime and never break out. Some break out just at the thought of something greezy.
In this tanner's case, she was probably mostly nekked in Greece. Very dry air also. No clothing to trap in moisture like when tanning. No humidity to instagate.
Unfortunately, the only way to get rid of it is to stop sweating. Not bloddy likely in the summer "dog days".
She'd have to soak in a bath of wipe out all day to get any results. They'll start to fade as the weather cools. |
