Rep Power: 0 | I'm trying to push tanning with just one bed. Haven't had grand opening yet, but was wondering how successful tanning in a fitness center was for others.Am shopping for a stand-up unit and possibly a spray booth now. |

Rep Power: 21 | i own both a fitness center and a tanning salon but they are seperate. I have a big belief in provide the service you offer and do it 1000%. First of all if you have a franchise fitness center you cannot put tanning in. There has been several discussions on this subject if you just use the search feature you might find what your looking for. |

Rep Power: 0 | I am director of a city owned fitness center and we offer tanning. We "inherited" the fitness center and tanning bed from the military during the last BRAC. We choose to keep tanning and offer it as a perk for yearly and corporate members and we also offer monthly and daily packages. OUr tanning bed is usually pretty busy all year round, but during March -May it's booked solid. Money wise, we do a little more than break even with the tanning program. |

Rep Power: 22 | I have a multi purpose facility. We started off with tanning, and then added fitness equipment. It has proven to be a good fit for me. We are packed during tanning season, and then the beds are used sporadiacally during the rest of the year. We also offer fairly significant discounts to our fitness club members, when they want tanning. It is a nice perk, and helps us retain fitness club members. I also may have a Radius 200 stand up for sale. It is a nice unit, about 4 years old. I would entertain a reasonable offer, if you are interested. |

Rep Power: 21 | We a have a 24-hour gym nearby. Three of their clients and even a employee tan with us, they will not use it. They claim nobody is responsible to see that it is cleaned after each use. Just a comment on the subject. |

Rep Power: 0 | I own a fitness & tanning center. I have one tanning bed and also offer airbrush tanning soon to become spray on tanning because I just ordered a LVLP outfit from Sprays of Rays. I am in a very small town and a spray booth would take forever to pay for itself. You can get in the airbrush /spray on business for under $1000.00 so it was a no brainer for me. I have good success with my bed however the bulbs are very costly to replace if you buy good ones. Ebay usually has several types of bulbs for auction so you can find some good buys there occasionally. I offer a discount deal to my members called the "Fit & Tan Plan" and they really seem to like that. The bed usage will drop off considerably after the summer tanning seaon so be prepared for that. One plus is I am able to give my aerobics instructors a membership to tan and workout and they teach some classes in trade just for that, so less money out of my pocket. I would highly recommend you offering atraditional bed as well as a UV free alternative to help please everyone:) Hope this helps, Kimberlee |
