Pam I also just recently started taking a Multi-vitamin and can completely tell a difference, upset at myself for not starting to take one sooner. What is the extra B-12 vitamin for?
Your one up on me with getting back to the gym....I so have to just get my butt in gear anf get there. Bottom line is once I am there and working out I feel so much better inside and just in general about myself. Motivation is the key

It is amazing how quickly you can feel the difference. B-12 helps in red blood cell formation, anemia, etc.

All B vitamins help with stress, too! Silent Bonus.
OK, does anyone think Emerald Dark Kickin Ale smells like Fred Flinstone Chewable Vitamins?

this is a little info that may help with Vitamins it was writen by David Hoyt,NHP

NURITION IN A NUTSHELL

I’m taking what?

Vitamins are essential to good health both mentally and physically. Everyone knows this is true, but what type of vitamins should you be taking? Basically a multi vitamin with minerals (one pill) once a day would be a good generic start. The problem is how do you know what you’re getting? Are they any good and will they make me feel any better when I begin taking them?
Lots of questions come to mind so maybe I can help. First of all it takes about three months for the nutrients to sustain themselves at optimum levels before the true effects are realized. Remember that the next time someone comes up to you and says...hey try these vitamins I’ve been taking them a week now and I feel fantastic! This is typical and also psychological. When you purchase a supplement read the label to see if it’s enteric coated. You do not want an enteric coated pill. Anything enteric coated is designed to pass through the stomach and dissolve in the intestines. You want the pill to break down in your stomach just as food does.
Put your supplement in a glass of water, it should break down within 30 minutes. If it doesn’t, throw them away and try another brand. Look for Hcl somewhere in the ingredients. (This indicates hydrochloric acid which helps dissolve the pill)

Beware of the word “oxide”. Typically it looks like this; Iron (oxide) or Copper (oxide) or Zinc (oxide). Put the bottle right back, these are oxidized metals commonly referred to as rust! The human body simply cannot absorb metals in this form and they are totally useless.

If a multi vitamin contains iron and vitamin E, then consider which one is most important to you because these two are “antagonists” (they work against each other) and the end result is you receive no benefit from either one.

Check the vitamin B12. What you need to know here is what type it is because most companies use the cheapest way out, they extract nutrients using hexane gas; as a result a portion of the B12 is chemically converted to cyanide! Federal law mandates that this must be shown as part of the ingredients. True B12 is Cobalamin. Adulterated B12 is called cyanocobalomin, that’s right it has cyanide in it! (A harmless form) Another man made B12 is hydroxocobalomin.

Please be aware of what goes into your body, everything that goes in has a direct effect on how long you may live.

I think its even harder for young people these days, because in College I always see lots of people who are very large. All that beer and pizza can catch up with you in a hurry. I personally live on Supplements, so I can tell you that just taking a multivitamin everyday is a great start. Also, Flaxseed Oil is another thing that can really help your overall wellness. More important though than any supplements is eating the right foods like you all were saying.

There’s a silent epidemic about to hit this country in a big way! That silence is now rumbling louder and louder and will soon be undeniable. Adolescent obesity. Just look at the school yards. Do you see what I see? Kids are wearing an adult large by the time their 12 years old. Yeah sure, there were a few big kids in my school also, the operative word here few. What the heck is going on? We are the richest most productive and well educated people on the planet yet we outweigh the rest of the world.

The influx of sugar into the American diet is without question one of the main reasons. If you really analyzed everything you ate in a day you wouldn’t believe how much sugar you’ve consumed. Example, what was on the menu this morning, bagels? What kind was it? Cinnamon swirl, chocolate chip or just plain? Any of these will yield plenty of the stuff that will eventually harm you. And just look at how many kinds of bagels we’ve got to choose from aren’t we lucky? Not to mention what you’re going to slather on them for flavoring.
Go back to the mid 1950’s and look at some stats on U.S. sugar consumption and diabetes. You will see a direct correlation, there’s no disputing it!

If that is the case and we are what we eat... wouldn't that make most of us Cheap, Fast or Easy? - Food for thought!

3 things to good health. Diet, exercise and sleep 4 to 5 meals a day small portions
(watch the junk food). Exercise could mean half an hour of cardio. And very, very
important to get 7 to 8 hours of sleep. If you live by the sword die by the sword.
