Rep Power: 0 | Hi Guys, You're all doing well on the Eph. Free supps! Personally, I like to use an ECA stack to 'cut' and get some definition for the summer, but as with all supplements they should be the icing on the cake and not the cake itself - a good diet and exercise should be the basis of any weight loss/fitness program. Apologies if this is a bit patronising, just my twopenneth worth! |

Rep Power: 21 | . A lot of the ephedrine. (Ephedra) and caffeine free products are not. Ephedra is disguised under the name Ma Huang This is Chinese herbal ephidrene. It affects the central nervous system much like methamphetamine. (Speed) By the way, the sale of ephidrene containing products is restricted in 16 states. The herbal name guarana. Translation: caffeine! Guarana comes from the seeds of a shrub in South America. (Usually Brazil) Its traditional use by natives of the Amazon rain forest is in food and drinks to increase alertness and diminish fatigue. Guarana’s energy boosting capabilities are without question! This stuff contains approximately two times the caffeine found in coffee beans! Guarana is about 3-4% caffeine and coffee is 1-2%. The 3-4% range is what you’ll get if it’s the straight ground powdered version. Some concentrated extracts however, may have levels of caffeine as high as 40-50%! There are approximately 40 species of plants that contain altered versions of ephedra. Theophylline comes from tea. Note* anything mentioned here can be extracted to very high concentrations Mormon Tea, Synephrine, Ma Huang, Guarana, and Citrus aurantium are the most common ingredients out there. I have even seen stimulants in multi-vitamins. The key to using a supplement is knowledge. Ephedra and caffeine are not the enemy; we just need to know how to utilize them. |

Rep Power: 0 | I started taking a dietary supplement line called Transitions. I lost 10 lbs in the first 7 days. It included a Fat Conversion Inhibitor, a Carbohydrate Absorbption Inhibitor, CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) and an Ephedra Free based product. I was very happy with the results. I had tried EVERYTHING (including working out), and this combination seemed to be the only one that worked. It is based more on the Glycemic Index rather than just high protein/ low carb. Since I had such great results, I started carrying the products in my salon. (hhhmmm makes sense) My clients have been happy with the products too! |

Rep Power: 0 | Hi Kay, Completely agree with your last paragraph, as with anything there is use and abuse and people who don't research things like ephedra usually end up either dissapointed or worse. But there are 'stronger' things out there like DNP which quite frankly scares the living **** outta me! |

Rep Power: 21 | When it comes to Meds a molecular structure is huge.. it changes everything. Its like vitamins, check you vitamin B12. because most companies use the cheapest way out, they extract nutrients using hexane gas; as a result a portion of the B12 is chemically converted to cyanide! Federal law mandates that this must be shown as part of the ingredients. True B12 is Cobalamin. Adulterated B12 is called cyanocobalomin, that’s right it has cyanide in it! (A harmless form) Another man made B12 is hydroxocobalomin. Another thing.. Beware of the word “oxide”. Typically it looks like this; Iron (oxide) or Copper (oxide) or Zinc (oxide). Put the bottle right back, these are oxidized metals commonly referred to as rust! The human body simply cannot absorb metals in this form and they are totally useless. |

Rep Power: 21 | Considering Aspartame will convert to formaldehyde at elevated temperatures when stored. (84 degrees to be exact) you can only imagine what it can do to your body. PM me if you want details. Anyway, Splenda and any other type of synthetic sugar regardless of what it’s called, it all shows up in humans in an unfavorable manner. Diet sugars i.e. Sucralose, Saccharin, Polydextrose etc. are left handed helix coils of molecular structure. These types of sugars fool the body into not responding properly. True sugar is right handed therefore the body recognizes it (increased glucose level) and tries to flush it out with insulin. All of these put you at in creased risk for diabetes, obesity and all kinds of ailments, (synthetic sugars increase the risk of cancer) especially if you drink more than two sodas a day. (8oz) Typically, a soda contains approx. 4-5 teaspoons of sugar! Because of the hidden sugars and reconstruction of sugar molecules in our food, the U.S. is now at a stage of an obesity epidemic. Just drive by any school and look at the kids, their wearing an adult large by the time their 14 years old! Really, look at everything you eat and remove as much sugar including synthetic sugars as possible. You would serve yourself well by moving toward flavored water that is naturally sweetened. Read the ingredient label, there should be very little sugar in it or none at all! If you would like to know what these synthetic sugars are PM me and I’ll send you a list. I can recommend some water if would like too. Hope this was of help to you. Dave. |
