I own a fitness center that offers tanning. I think Tantalk is cool and have been looking for something similar for the health club. I hope a lot of guys in similar situations use this forum.

I am in a health club with tanning. I wouldn't have joined if they didn't have free tanning! This beats all competition with tanning salons!

Tanning in a health club is a good idea as far as the WalMart "one stop shopping" mentality goes. But one stop shopping is not always beneficial to the member when it comes to tanning. It has been found on many occasions that tanning beds in fitness facilities tend to get overlooked. The bulbs are not changed as often is necessary or required, and the beds are not maintained the way they should be. Also, they usually just put a bottle of cleaner and paper towels or regular towels in the room in the hopes that you are going to clean the bed after you use it. You have no idea if the person before you cleaned the bed or not, and if they didn't, how long has that bed been sitting there dirty getting "germy".

Tanning and Fitness go hand and hand. We had a fitness and tanning Center and it had a tanning staff. Now we just do tanning.
If you are getting free tanning, think about it. We had to pay the tanning staff to clean the beds. Educated them on the tanning procedure, and keep the beds in top shape. this all costs money You get what you pay for. Do you really think that a place that gives free tanning cares if the lamps need to be replaces? (That cost money and it’s not cheap.)

Yes, I guess free tanning would beat all the competition. If we all give away our stuff, then we would never have to worry about that pesky competition. I would never give it away and I don't know why anyone else would either. Discount it to members maybe, but not free.

I have tanning clients and I have gym clients. Not too many do both. I am ordering new lotion now and will be looking for new beds soon. I have a girl Friday on staff who does a great job of cleaning the beds and taking care of my clients in addition to many duties with the gym. She also does my spray tans .

in the gym i go to they have a tanning bed that i tan in,it's not the best bed but it gets the job done..and people are really good about cleaning the bed after they are done.

Jamie professional tanning salons are trained in sanitation and do not let their clients clean the beds. Did you know the cleaning solution need to sit on the bed for a full min. to work properly? For example… If the person that tanned before you had a bad case of poison ivy and did not clean the bed properly, chances are good that you could get poison ivy. In the state of NH under RSA-313-A:8 sanitation and hygiene standards are to be met and maintained by the tanning facility.
