BronzeBabe, How is South Beach going? I haven't been to Curves in almost a month. This time of year it is so hard to make myself go.

hmm anyway... Pick any diet you feel you can maintain. I think the most important part is excercise... cardio 3 times a week or more if you have the time.

OH yea NJ can i have the virus? I collect them

Excersise, above all is what you need to lose weight. I joined in on the Discovery Health Channel's National body challenge in January. THey gave me a free 3 months at Bally's. Well, 30 days later I signed up for the membership because I just love it! And a little over 3 months later I've lost 25 lbs!! Of course the best thing is to eat right also. But I'm never hungry. I eat 5 small meals a day, and I even eat chocolate and pizza (in moderation) and have gained muscle mass and even when I eat things that aren't good a few days I don't gain. Oh, I've given up all sodas. Once in a while I'll have a diet pepsi (caffiene free if I can find it) and I drink Arizona Diet Green tea with Splenda all the time. Lots of water (propel by gatorade, low carbs, tastes really great)

Splenda rocks!!! And I also drink lipton decaf tea. I brew it and use Splenda instead of sugar. I've went from an 18/20 to a loose 14. I can probably go 12 now.

Tae Bo is awesome too! I lost 40 lbs with Billy once. But I was also on Slim fast and gained it all back cuz it gave me gallstones and I had to stop drinking it.

Good luck for any weigh losers out there!

Cardio is great, but weight training is necessary too, because the more muscle you have the more fat and calories you burn. I've lowered my fat % 20% and my metabolism has increased. I usually do 30 mins of moderate cardio, but switched to walking 4 miles per day. (To the gym and back) I alternate upper and lower body in the freeweights area.

Those big resistance balls are awesome for crunches. I do 100-200 about 4-5 times a week. I started using a 10lb weight as more resistance. It's great. The first time you add weight you're sore for about 3 days, but after that it's not that bad.

I have heard great things about the South Beach Diet, I myself tried the Atkins and did lose weight quickly. As soon as I stopped the weight came back on, plus some. I opened a 30 min. circuit workout and love it. (no it's not curves) but like it. Watch what you eat workout and maintain. Good Luck on your diets. Let us know how you did. I'm really thinking about trying the South Beach myself now that I workout more.

I have been enjoying this lifestyle so much, I do not even think of it as a diet anymore. To date I have lost 21 lbs. which is very exciting. I have about 20lbs more that I would like to lose to be at my goal weight and I have no doubt in my mind about getting there. Yay!

EERGH!! I just read my post from 2 months ago...I still haven't been back to the gym. I guess I better may that a priority. Glad you are doing well BB. Once you get the hang of it and make it your lifestyle, it doesn't seem like a diet anymore. I lost 40# on Atkins 6 years ago. I still eat that way most of the time. Occasionally I have fries or something else but it is so easy to jump back on Atkins (& South Beach I would guess). I really feel better when I am staying on it. Keep up the good work!
