Last year in February I hired an employee for a full time position.A month later she informed me that she was two months pregnant. It didn’t bother me because in that first month she had been my most impressive employee, doing everything asked of her and more.I did however tell her that her job requirements are high, being the only one working in her shift, and if her pregnancy got in the way of her work, I would have to give her early maternity leave. She informed me that she would have no problems working up to her 9th month.Well guess what! Her performance started dropping around April.By May she didn’t fill out – signing - the cleaning ALL employees must sign, she was not cleaning the top of the beds properly (I guess because she had to bend her body in a certain way). In short, I started getting a lot of complaints from customers on our suggestion box.I have 5 friends tanning for free. The only thing they have to do, is walk in the salon without an appointment, and inspect everything during their visit, and answer back to me. ALL their reports came back negative. –She’s sitting down all day, she spends her time on the phone, and towards the end of her shift all garbadges are full. In short the place looks like a war zone-. On July 13th (her boyfriends birthday) she had a doctor’s appointment, and said she’ll be a couple of hours late. My wife filled in for her and got a few phone calls from the hospital around the time the employee said they would be back. The employee was crying on the phone saying the doctors found something and “oh my… am I going to loose my baby?” needless to say she didn’t show up for work that day. When I was informed of what happened, I asked the employee for a doctor’s note. She refused. She said the doctor said it’s ok for her to work. I told her that obviously the doctor was not informed properly of the type of work she was doing, and I would like for her to give me a note so I can talk to the doctor. If the doctor told me she was fit for work I would accept that. She did not, so I informed her that my accountant would have her maternity papers ready for her later that week. Now she has gone to human rights and is claiming sexual discrimination. What a B**H

Solid,Actually it's CONGRATULATIONS. I use to make the same spelling blunder. The problem is that in the south we pronounce it like you spelled it. My 6th grader son is extremely smart but spells phonetically. I guess he needs to be around more people that speak like it's spelled. It's really funny to watch him spell words. When your from the south we have a way of saying words much differently than they are spelled.Michael[This message has been edited by chunn (edited 02-14-2001).]

Michael,You did the spelling lesson for Solid. I will do the grammar lesson for you.To quote you "When your from the south".It should be "you're" - short for you are - there is a name for it but I can't remember it.Fred

I think the name for joining two words like that is a contraction.

Have you tried calling the Attorney General? If they can't help, they can at least point you in the direction for help. I think.
