There is not a speck of evidence this is dangerous to thew baby. The biggest danger is the mother getting too hot.

We have had several pregnant women tan with us. If their doctor okays it I recommend that they come early in the morning before the beds get too hot. From what I understand it is not the rays to be concerned about, it is the hot air they are breathing in. If they come in later in the day I tell them to ask for a bed that has not been used recently. Sometimes that is haard to do as we are so busy this time of year.------------------Carin WalkerSandollar Tanning Resorts

Tommy,I would strongly advise against it.We absolutely will not knowingly tan a pregnant woman. The reason behind not tanning when pregnant is this (from my ob/gyn):The UV is not the factor, it is the heat. Anytime a pregnant woman raises her core body temperature it is risking damage to the fetus. This is also why a sauna or hot tub shouldn't be used. Also, if that pregnant woman tans in your beds, slips on her way out of the bed, falls and loses that baby, do you really want to be responsible for that?? I know I don't. There are enough sue-happy people out there, don't set yourself up for it. It is just not worth it. Sell them a self tanner, extend their membership/package, whatever it takes. I just wouldn't be tanning them. Don't set yourself up for that.

Gee so I got jumped on for, heaven forbid, allowing people to tan for the full time the first time in the salon but it's ok to tan people when they're pregnant? Take your own advice Tan-U-Too, good luck to you when someone sues you.
