[Posting originally found on TanToday.com][I wanted to address this issue here!]You Are Really Naive, Bruce!First of all, I must break with precedent and commend you on your post (I'll make up for the kind words later on!). You have accurately summed up the many reasons why TanToday.com is becoming a daily ritual for the indoor tanning industry community and the reasons why it will continue to grow in popularity and influence. You are really naive if you think the new and improved TanTalk.com site is about competition. The reasons for the site's transformation are:1. This is a clever way for Mr. Chunn to promote his new software.2. This site is the unofficial ITA answer to TanToday.com. Mark my words, the power structure of the borg will rally around this site with banner ads (look for ETS and Swedish Beauty to be there soon!) with a vengeance. In fact, expect to see some posts from senior ITA people. You just don't seem to understand the fact that the ITA goons are afraid of you and TanToday.com and so they will try to use the other board to get their sanitized message across to counteract the growing influence of TanToday.com.Why didn't they use Suntanning.com? Because it is boring and as stale as day old donuts! Why will TanTalk.com prove to be a flash in the pan? Because it will rapidly become obvious to anyone with common sense that this forum is nothing but ITA's sanitized answer to TanToday.com. Here comes the zinger as promised. Why would anyone with half a brain promote the borgs new "unofficial" site like you did? You are hopelessly naive and obviously have less than half a brain!Face reality, Bruce, ITA considers Looking Fit an enemy and so they support Tanning Trends, Today's Image and Island Sun Times (count the pages of ETS, AG and Swedish Beauty ads in the four publications if you doubt this). They consider TanToday.com an enemy and so they will support TanTalk.com. You see, Bruce, the ITA people know that they can't control either Looking Fit or TanToday.com and so they will financially support entities that they can control. The same thing is going on regarding trade shows. ITA wants to destroy the Chicago trade show and they will do everything in their power to do so. Guess who has the biggest presence in Nashville? What is really going on behind the scenes, Mr. Naive, is a subtle and dangerous form of economic censorship. What they don't understand is that everyone in the indoor tanning industry knows who the power behind ITA really is. The mystery is why the quality companies in the industry are allowing K-Mart to dictate policy and lead them to their own destruction. Are they stupid? Are they afraid? Or are they just as naive about the market domination strategy of K-Mart as you are about the real reason behind the change in the TanTalk.com website? It isn't about competition, dummy. It's about one companies clever and cynical attempt (successfully, so far!) to use ITA as a tool to help them totally dominate the indoor tanning industry. So don't worry, naive one. The leaders in the industry will give the other site a look and then return here. The reason they will do so? Because only TanToday.com has the cojones to tell the truth about what is happening and to stand up to the domination tactics of the power behind the ITA!Keeping Bruce Humble(A dirty, hopeless, frustrating, doomed to failure job, but SOMEBODY has to do it!)IP[This message has been edited by chunn (edited October 21, 2000).]

Boy this is a hot topic! It seems that TanTalk.com is the ONLY site with NO revenue from anyone!!!! How can it be stated that TanTalk.com is ITA's answer? None of them have spoke to me at ALL. True I do support ITA and SmartTan, but the money flow is in the opposite direction. I support Don and his efforts. I support anyone trying to make the Tanning Industry better. I'm supporting TanToday.com and have for several months now! I'm a member of SmartTan and ITA! I paid the dues! The money has been flowing only in a negative direction for me.Michael

Dear Keeping Bruce Humble. Thanks for bring this items out! On the following point posting in this thread.1. This is a clever way for Mr. Chunn to promote his new software.Yes, I will promote my product here!!! Why not? I will tell you that Solar Soft will be HONEST about the capabilities and shortcomings of our software. Honesty is something I hold dear.If nothing else I want the people that do business with us to say those guys tell it like it is whether it good or bad for them!ThanksMichael Chunn

Rep Power: 0 | Mike,Take the thread down. This is cheating and copyright infringement, these are NOT your posts, you, or for that matter, I, did not write them. You can comment upon them, paraphrase them, or hyperlink to them on my site, but stealing them to boost your action is wrong. Use what is called the "fair use exception" and take a snippet or two to generate the interest then the hyperlink to complete the story. Anything else is not kosher, that is the way these things are generally done.I know you are new to this stuff, be we are not and will compete, with anyone, even the ITA surrogates, but it has to be done professionally and correctly.Best. http://www.tantoday.com |

Rep Power: 0 | Since our software along with Helios 9 compete directly with ETS's Salon Explorer, I would personally be shocked that ETS woudld buy ad space on TanTalk, even if they could, which they cant', cause we don't! :-)I guess were moving up in the world, nobodys to lackeys in less than a week!Bruce, feel free to post a link to the original tantoday topic.------------------John Cole [IMG]http://www.hsv.net/wb/jcole/solarsoft.gif] |
